Wilks did say he plays the best 11 guys. DJ sucks in his eyes obviously...

yepSo you pull your best running back at a crucial time in the game to give him a lecture. Like I said, this is next level stupid.
I do seem to remember a bunch of members on this board complaining about a certian big Puss not being held accountable by the last coaching staff for avoiding contact.
Well DJ has been horrible in blitz pick up and he's being held accountable
So you agree with the logic of benching your best RB at a crucial time in the game? Really?I do seem to remember a bunch of members on this board complaining about a certian big Puss not being held accountable by the last coaching staff for avoiding contact.

Bowles won 10 games his first year and 5 each of the next two so no he is far better than Wilks. Jackson is atrocious though.Well, I like Hue Jackson but 2-32 is the worst coached team for now. I would balance that by saying they look much better this year and will win more games than us.
Todd Bowles may be right there as well (worst coach).
Both of these guys have had a much larger sample size of games.
I give Wilks the benefit of the doubt through 3 games. Certainly have seen a lot of *%$@ I don't agree with but might be some growing pains as a rookie HC. That being said, he will never have a good enough defense to employ a ground and pound offense in today's NFL.
Time and place. Time and placeI do seem to remember a bunch of members on this board complaining about a certian big Puss not being held accountable by the last coaching staff for avoiding contact.

Never complain, never explain.
They explained, which promptly ads further credence to the adage. The explanation only cements the error now and before we could only guess. Bravo.

Hey Conrad, welcome back. Long time no see.
Is there actually any coaching taking place?
No I don't but I get it. It's not that he just missed one blitz he's been doing it all year. That montage of him on Sunday it seems he has he been purposely avoiding contact on blitz plays. Chris Collinsworth brought it up a few times.
This wasn't the first time they talked to him about it. Wilks is trying to set a standard don't care who you are if your not doing your job your not playing.

Interesting
So DJ was punished during the most crucial play of the season for making a mistake that didn't affect anything. These coaches, man...
So, you think that during a crucial drive and during an extremely crucial play at a time when we were moving the ball to get into field position to possibly win the game with time winding down was an appropriate time to lecture your #1 back on blitz blocking? And Wilkes is more concerned with measuring his own dick than winning the game? Again, if that was the reason why DJ was not on the field, this is not only next level stupidity, it's unprecedented stupidity. No I don't but I get it. Your absolutely right, it’s on the same level as pulling steph curry when you need a last second 3 because he missed a pic. Luckily for him Rosen starting stole the press conference today otherwise wilks would have had to answer nonstop questions about why in the hell DJ wasn’t on the field. It’s still mind boggling 24 hrs later. First year HC and the guy was so close to getting his first win and he has a beast of a RB on the pine, and only getting 12 carries in a game they were playing with the lead for a good chunk. 12 carries!?So, you think that during a crucial drive and during an extremely crucial play at a time when we were moving the ball to get into field position to possibly win the game with time winding down was an appropriate time to lecture your #1 back on blitz blocking? And with Bradford at QB. You'd think that 18 carries and heavily involved with the passing game was obvious for such a versatile, proven dual threat RB. 25 touches a game should be automatic. Of course, with this staff it would be in the most predictable way that those touches would be ineffective. Give McVay a guy like DJ and recievers Fitz and Kirk and I'm very confident they would be scoring points.Your absolutely right, it’s on the same level as pulling steph curry when you need a last second 3 because he missed a pic.
