Really, the Spurs are mocked nationally for being whiners?
I did a simple google search.
"Spurs whiners" yielded 15,500 results.
"Suns whiners" yielded 488,000 results.
If my math is correct, that is about a 6.5x increase.

This is the silliest thing that I have seen in a long, long time.

You do realize how google works right? It pulls the most current data, and works backwards. Of course the Suns will have more hits, because they have had the crappier calls recently.

Do you honestly believe that the Spurs don't complain about every call?

Ask people that don't like Duncan for example. I'd wager that a good portion of them, would say it is because he complains about every call. I personally like Duncan, but I have heard that line over and over again.

I admit that the Suns have been known to complain about officiating recently. It's because Nash nearly gets raped when he goes into the paint, no call. The majority of the major/debable calls in games have traditionally gone against the Suns. Even writers on the east coast are starting to see it too.

Plus, it was 15,500 to 219,000 actually. And that's probably because the instances are Spurs fans calling Suns whiners. Or that the word "sun" is much more common than the word "spur". Or a million other reasons. A Google search? Doesn't mean squat.

I really believe it is a tactic that Popovich coaches. Further, I believe D'Antoni is trying it out. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Just ask the Spurs.

And before "anyone" claims I don't have them on IGNORE...you were quoted in a post.

I don't personally disagree with this, but to say that the Spurs are ridiculed nationally as being whiners, while the Suns are known to be victims of bad calls is untrue. Both team whines. Guess, what? All 30 teams whine.

And the thing about Duncan is, there really isn't much else to hate about the man. Back a few years, people complain about him being boring, now that has worn off, people complain about him being a whiner.

You want to talk about someone who gets hit hard in the paint with no call? Try Duncan. He is averaging a career low 5.8 FTA this year. While it is true that he takes a relatively low number of FGA this year as well, his FTA is a far cry from the last 3 years when he was attemping a similar number of FGs (he actually attempts less last year and the year before).

Try Parker as well. For a guy who makes a living in the paint, he shoots 5.2 FTA a game this year, and it's a career high!

I know Nash doesn't shoot a lot of FTs, and he does gets hacked, but that is the same for every team, it's not like the Spurs or any other team get more favourable calls consistently. Teams get some breaks sometimes, they get the short end of the stick other times, it pretty much all balances out at the end.

And no, the Spurs don't complain about every call, they complain yes.

I really like Duncan's game. It is slow, methodical. He should play for an East team instead.

Duncan has been shooting more jumpers than in the past.

I do think that guards in general get less respect around the league than big men. Its a shame too, especially since all of the rules they they are putting out there, help perimeter players.

Same here, I actually think Duncan's game is beautiful to watch, and anybody who wants to learn anything about low post moves should watch Duncan. He has the best variety of moves in the paint since Hakeem.

As for shooting jumpers, I am not 100% sure if that is the case, so I looked it up in 82games.com

Broken down by Jumpers, Close, Dunks and Tips:
2008 - 55%, 38%, 4%, 3%
2007 - 51%, 41%, 5%, 3%
2006 - 56%, 36%, 6%, 3%
2005 - 58%, 33%, 6%, 2%

There are some changes in the numbers, but it has hovered around the same areas.

Finally, I believe guards (or perimeter players) are getting more respect than big man. Look at a guy like Shaq, and then look at a guy like Kobe. You pull the same thing on Shaq you do on Kobe, you get flagrants. Big men are hacked all day down in the paint, and yet once perimeter players get into the paint, they are basically in a no-touch zone.

Don't bother Dream. He will post time and time again how he is right and your wrong. It's a instaTROLL response. You could give him a google manual and he would still dispute it.

Man I wish the ignore thing worked for when people quote trolls as well.

What is it? Some guy who can't argue with numbers, so he throws up the troll word.

Go ahead, give me the google manual. Guess what? What Google does in terms of having pages ranked is that it pushes recent results further up front, it does NOT create MORE results because things happened more recently. If there are 10,000 results for item A, and 100,000 for item B, whether item A or item B is more recent has no effects of the NUMBER of results, it has to do with how those 10,000 results for item A and the 100,000 for item B ranks within the search.

So the Suns whiners query grabbing more results is because there are more results, not because it is more recent. How those articles are ranked within those results is another matter.

You want to argue? Take me on, show me the Pagerank algorithm that says otherwise, show me how the dangling nodes work otherwise. Show me, mathematically how your assertion of how google works will somehow create more results for Suns whiners than Spurs whiners other than the fact that there are more dangling nodes indicating that Suns and whiners appear more frequently on the web than Spurs and whiners (to note, I put in quotation marks in my original post purely for grammatical reasons, I didn't actually put those quotation marks in the search, thus the different results from another poster).

Oops, sorry, shouldn't have done it.

Great knowing that this extremely short "come back" you got required an edit. You are truly a shining beacon of human evolution.
