At the risk of sounding like a Care Bear, what I saw last night was a team that appeared to be exhausted. If I'm pissed off at anyone, it is at the NFL for scheduling a cross-country game after 3 days rest against a non-divisional foe.

And personally, I think that worrying about how this team is perceived by the media, my friends or someone I don't know in a bar says a lot more about me than it does about the team.

I'm going to invent the excuse o matic, there's a giant demand for this nowdays.

There's a difference between an excuse and a reason.

The team has been stout against the run all season, yet they laid an egg last night. Did they suddenly forget how to play or were their legs not responding as quickly as normal?

We saw dropped pass after dropped pass last night, but do you assume that Boldin has lost the ability to catch, or did he have a bad night because he was tired?

On Monday, Warner said he was physically beat up by the Giants, but it's easier to think that he sucks because he couldn't bounce back two and a half days later?

But perhaps it's just easier to believe that these guys aren't actually human beings, but are really the Fox robot dressed up in a Cardinal uniform.

It would be valid if the other team had substantially more rest.

They didn't it's not a reason it's an excuse.

Unless your'e implying that the coaches were tired too, I put the loss more on them than the players.

McNabb had an extra half game to rest :D.Plus, there's that little 5 hour plane ride.

Shh, guys, remember, we're not allowed to be upset at a loss. Quiet!

We are all upset Stout. But good lord, there are people here that if they had their way would cut half the team, fire Whiz and his staff and move the team to L.A.

Every team has a stretch where they don't play well and one,or two, games where they lay an egg.Who cares what the media labels us? Two weeks ago the Cowboys, and TO, were done. Now they're the only team that can beat the Giants. And that's after beating SF and Sea.[/QUOTE

Amen!

A voice of reason. Hooray.
I think the NFL learned a lesson last night. If you want a competitive game , match two division rivals. Examples.
Dallas vs Redskins
Cards vs Seahawks
Bears vs Lions ( okay, maybe not the Lions)
Bears vs Vikings
Panthers vs Bucs

This would eliminate an unbalanced travel and preparation time.
It would be a better game if for no other reason the teams know each other. It would not give a team a competitive edge within the division. Why make only 1 of the teams in a division play on a Thursday?

Heres one more idea for the NFL. Don't have west coast teams playing the East divisions of BOTH leagues in the same year.

I just found this:
"We just found our chemistry today," cornerback Sheldon Brown
You must be registered for see images
said. "It worked, it clicked. That's what we have been expecting all year and it didn't happen. It happened tonight. We just have to build off it."
How dare those Eagles think they had anything to do with the Cards losing!!
We will be fine.
Keep the faith :)

You think so. Watch the Eagles going forward. They will lose any games left in the division. They aren't that good and beating the Cards like a drum doesn't make them good. We didn't show up for this game.

All good ideas. I think we should hire someone to do a study on weather patterns across the country next year also. We should let the league know what type of weather we are willing to play in. I wouldn't just avoid cold weather as I believe the sun was way too bright in both Washington and Carolina.

Also, we can't allow them to schedule two eastern division teams back to back because they are just to big and mean.

Heck, why don't we just send in our own proposal and see how that goes.

Better yet, we could just sit in the corner and pout and tell the world how terrible we are. We could go on and whine about why our players can't be perfect every game.
Adversity is what it is. There are only a select few teams that can overcome anything thrown at them. They are teams like the Giants and the Patriots. Let's agree that our beloved Cardinals are not on the same level as the "elite" teams yet.
That being said I will continue to look for and build on the positives. I refuse to throw players, coaches and management under the bus as long as I see effort and direction. That , I guess, makes me a Kool-Aid guy.

I have declared you an official darksider.

Actually, you and others who make these ridiculous excuses are the ones who have quit. One of the latest I read said they missed their families on the holiday? This and the long travel, cold weather etc is the talk of losers.

I for one saw a team with heart play the Giants tough and considering the competion was satisfied. I then saw a team making excuses before the game even started and just quit in Philly. If you are ok with it and want to continue to make excuses go ahead. Just stop telling people like me we are bad fans when we want and expect a good effort at a minimum.

That's what I'm saying PJ. Most of the eagles fans know that their horrid playcalling and execution aren't just washed away by pounding our sorry defense. They'll get smoked in NY next week. Mark it down.

Never will I make excuses for a performance. I will point out reasons, but a reason is not an excuse for losing.

I'm not calling you a bad fan. There is no such thing as long as you are a fan.
However, there is kool-aid and darkside.

You, my friend are a darksider.

Actually, you have done nothing but make excuses and point fingers at people that don't agree with you. It is only two days after a absolute blowout and you and others just keep going on and on with criticism of those who have a problem with the effort in this game.

I don't go for these labels but name calling doesn't bother me. Typically just a sign of igorance or someone who really has no point to make.

The only thing an posters I critisized were the ones that fire off threads like , Q sucks, fire Whiz, and things of that nature. It is obvious knee jerk reactions by true fans but none the less they are just that , knee jerk.

I love this forum, the banter and the point counterpoint that it brings. I will stick to my opinion that one loss does not make a season. We are not as good as maybe many of us thought we were and we are not as bad as many of us think we now are.
I did not call you ignorant as you just did. As far as "labeling" anybody, if you have posted here for any length of time you know there are 2 groups on our forum, Kool-aid and Darksiders. Neither is bad , derogatory or mean spirited.

Ask anybody else.

I'm kool-aid. You are darksider.

Actually you have demonstrated little if any tolerance of others opinions. All I did was criticize the teams effort as I thought it was horrible. That bothers you quite a bit as you have judged me as a fan. I have posted here a long time so I know about the cute labels. You have no clue about me as a fan and we obviously don't agree about expressing one's opinion after a loss so I will stop responding to your posts.

The effort and direction as a whole , not judging by one game. You wouldn't say a book stunk because one chapter wasn't as good as the rest of the book.

sadly, we've had a couple AWFUL chapters this year, and right now our last chapter stinks. But, there have been good chapters, even a GREAT chapter and, the rest of the book has yet to be written. Right now, I'd say it's a decent book.

this post is stupid. :)
