Like the previous NES Classic Edition, this new SNES version will come with two wired pads, a USB charger and HDMI output. However, what we all care about is what games this one will come bundled with and Nintendo has thrown in a big surprise here.

  • Contra III: The Alien Wars™
  • Donkey Kong Country™
  • EarthBound™
  • Final Fantasy III
  • F-ZERO™
  • Kirby™ Super Star
  • Kirby’s Dream Course™
  • The Legend of Zelda™: A Link to the Past™
  • Mega Man® X
  • Secret of Mana
  • Star Fox™
  • Star Fox™ 2
  • Street Fighter® II Turbo: Hyper Fighting
  • Super Castlevania IV™
  • Super Ghouls n Ghosts®
  • Super Mario Kart™
  • Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars™
  • Super Mario World™
  • Super Metroid™
  • Super Punch-Out!! ™
  • Yoshi’s Island™
In case you missed it, Star Fox 2 is indeed tucked away in that list. The sequel to the original Star Fox, it was never officially released…until now.

Truth be told, as fun as those games are, they arent THAT fun anymore. Our minds have been warped by new age technology. This is something you plug in for maybe a month, and then never again.

I powered up my Gameboy Color the other day and played Donkey Kong country for about 15 minutes and it just couldnt keep my attention.

I feel luke this one is a must buy after finding out they are pulling a disney and only making a limited number and then not selling any more.

I have a NES and a bunch of games still, I do not have old SNES stuff.

Earthbound my son might love, I wouldnt play it again but I would play starfox and mario kart for sure.

I thought that mario Kart was easily the best one

I would have been on this if it included Mortal Kombat.

missing earthworm jim too. ff3 is there which is a big deal IMO, great game.

Outside of earthworm jim and mortal kombat, they pretty much nailed it with the games IMO. I even just went through some top 25 snes game lists and it syncs up well.

Star Fox 2 is an unreleased game in the USA as well. I am upset that Pilotwings and Chrono Trigger aren't involved, but I will definitely pick one up. The game list is pretty damn amazing.

Take my money now!

I already have an original SNES with a good chunk of games. But I still want this! The SNES has such a nostalgia factor for me.

The SNES Classic will launch on September 29 and cost $79.99.

Nintendo isn't the only company playing up nostalgia. Earlier this month, gaming company AtGames announced mini versions of its retro consoles, the Atari Flashback 8 Gold and the Sega Genesis Flashback. Both will go on sale this fall.

While the Atari Flashback console will include 105 built-in games, such as "Pac-Man" and "River Raid," the Sega Genesis mini console feature 85 but has a cartridge port for physical games. Pricing hasn't been announced yet for either product.

Nintendo's move follows the launch of its latest gaming system, Nintendo Switch, in March. It works as both a TV-linked console and a handheld portable device.

One of the few games I liked and was pretty damn good at. Loved Earthworm Jim.

power pack sold separately? So it doesn't work without buying the plug? lol....

It almost looks like it does have a slot to put games in but with its size, I dont see how that would be possible. Maybe its just for looks.

Definitely just for looks. I pray that this will be hacked so I can add games to it.

Will Nintendo Release An N64 Classic?
Retro consoles are a popular option for video game companies right now, especially after Nintendo’s recent NES Classic and Super NES Classic reboots. But could Nintendo be dipping back into the well for a third time for a Nintendo 64 Classic?

In Europe's Intellectual Property Office, Nintendo recently filed for four trademark applications on controller design icons. Three of the icons are for the Nintendo Switch, original Nintendo and Super Nintendo controllers, but as NeoGAFpointed out, a fourth application is for the Nintendo 64 controller.

thatd be great. I might have to get this and the 64 version. It would be cool to have all that nostalgia gaming wrapped up into one little box.

At the same time, thats a lot of stuff to be plugged in and etc around my entertainment center so it may be more hassle than it is worth.

It's funny because that picture of the SNES brought back a flood of memories.

I had a NES, and I wanted a SNES so bad but in addition to being super expensive, they were impossible to find in the valley for the first few months it was out.

I had my old console and like 30+ games. I saved up my allowance and odd-job money for several weeks and finally (I thought) had enough money for it. So my Dad called all over the valley and finally found a store in like Avondale that had one. (We lived in far east Mesa)

So if you know my dad and how much he despises crosstown traffic, you'd know it was truly a labor of love that he drove me all the way over there one afternoon after work to purchase it.

Me being naive I assumed they were going to give me a lot more than they did for all my old stuff. If memory serves I think they wound up giving me like $30 for my console and all my old games, so I had nowhere near enough money for the new system.

My Dad, being the amazing guy he is, thrilled me by covering the extra amount which was like $100 lol, (a lot for my family back then) and I had my SNES. My Dad still tells the story of me taking it out of the box and just staring at it the whole way home. I was SO excited. I cannot recall many times in my life when I was that excited for something.

So I guess long story short is I'm gonna have to buy this.
