The analytics from Wednesday night were very balanced. Both teams recorded 25 even-strength scoring chances, as well as 13 even-strength high-danger scoring chances. The only difference at the end of the game was that the Canucks had a slightly higher xGF%, finishing at 52.77% compared to the Islanders 47.23%.

As for the heatmap, Vancouver did a good job of crashing the net and creating difficult situations when Ilya Sorokin was in goal. The Canucks generated seven high-danger shots through the first 41 minutes of the game, scoring on two of them. Ultimately, it was an impressive offensive performance as Vancouver was able to capitalize on their opportunities.

Looking at standouts, one of the Canucks best players was easily Tyler Myers. During his 19:13 of even-strength ice time, Vancouver held a 12-8 shot advantage while outscoring their opponent 4-0. Wednesday was just another in a long list of impressive performances by Myers who is having one of his best seasons in a Canucks uniform.

To wrap things up, Kiefer Sherwood had an impressive night for Vancouver. During his 13:10 of even-strength ice time, the Canucks had a 9-7 shots advantage and won the high-danger scoring chances battle 8-5. Sherwood also had three points and was named first star of the game.
