That’s a bit harsh. Booker is still very young, very talented and only improving. He’s a part of the solution, not the problem. Any return we get for him would likely not make us any better. Guys like Booker you keep and build around.
As dark as it may seem now, we are still a better team than last season, and that’s with our 2nd best player only playing 2 games to this point.
As it stands today, however, anyone not named Booker or Ayton is open to being dealt.
the sad reality is that if this team is ever even going to be good, Booker and Ayton will need to be 2nd and 3rd bananas because neither of them has what it takes to be a true blue #1 Alpha Dog, IMO.
Booker's got the grit, but not the athleticism to completely control a game at either side of the court. And Ayton's got the athleticism with none of the grit to do the same.
If those are you're two main building blocks moving forwards, we've got castles made of sand.
