We don't really need to analyze that. But I will -
I think we went inside too much. Yeah you read that right. We are getting too enamored with pick and roll and just lobbing it inside to Shaq. Where is Bell? Where is Barbosa? Where did Gears go? What about Nash scoring from the field?
The only thing we seem to do is lob it inside to Shaq, Amare or Diaw and let them find our guards on the perimeter, or just turn it over giving San Antonio 24 points. Now where it fails is our guards can't seem to penetrate and score. Ever. At all. Ever. Bell never penetrates, Nash penetrates but usually just goes in circles, then turns it over. Barbosa penetrates but misses layups. Now during all of this Bowen and company are fouling the crap out of us when we go inside. I don't wanna ignore that because from the first half to the second half that was the only thing I saw change - Bowen was slapping and hitting Steve constantly. A lot of that caused turnovers.
We need an offense outside of the pick and roll against a team that fouls you like the Spurms do. Then finally, at least were not in Dallas's situation of getting completely obliterated twice in a row. They have little hope of being able to stop the Hornets. In some ways that is what makes these two games so frustrating. So close. Should have won. Then we collapse on offense and the Spurms hit huge shots. We lose.
We just gotta win the remaining games. I thought we were the better team, but if guys like Brent Barry, Oberto and even UDOKA can outscore Barbosa then just end the series now.
