Wow, this was a great movie...I'd probably rate it second or third on my list of movies I've seen this year...Shrek 2 1st, and Potter/Terminal tied for 2nd...

Tom Hanks...the guy is just amazing. After about 2 minutes, you completely believe he's a guy from "Krackozia"...the accent, the look, everything. Guys like Tom Cruise, etc., just can't seem to star in another role and NOT look like themselves...yet Hanks can do it everytime it seems to me.

Anyways, great, great movie. The weakest part to me would be the romance with Zeta-Jones, but it's still good.

We saw it at the Cine-Capri, what a great place. They actually announced before the show that an usher would be sitting in there with us today to make sure everything was okay, and that the show had no "interruptions" by moviegoers...what a great idea...having someone in there to make sure people shut their mouths during the movie.

Anyways, highly recommended...check it out!

I thought it was better than both Shrek and Harry Potter. Tom Hanks sure is amazing. The guy can flat out act with the best of them. If he doesnt get an Oscar nod for this performance I will be very surprised.

the wife and i saw it last saturday night for our "date night" - great flick. hanks was awesome and steve s. did some fantastic sweeping long crane shots - i'm still wondering how he did some of those - truly amazing.

hanks is hands down one of the better actors that hollywood has right now - i'm so glad he's down to earth and not all obnoxious.

hanks really made you fill for his character - loved it.

mike - when we saw kill bill 2 at the cine-capri, harkins did the same thing - had an usher sit in there with the audience. it's a good idea - now how do i get that job?

"yeah, we'd like you to come to work - we'll pay you - and you have to watch kill bill 2 like 5 times today - are you okay with that?"

Saw this movie this past saturday and I have to say its really a good movie. CZJ character to me is just a shoe in. Hanks acting was good just his accent sounds like dracula imo. But a good movie.

I've not seen it, but I know there is a true story of a guy who lives in a terminal in Europe I think for like 11 years. I think this is where they got the idea. Looking forward to seeing it.

No prob! I think Tom Hanks is amazing and was ready to buy it based solely on the fact that he's in it. Then, after reading everyone's comments on this thread, it just made me decide for sure that I am going to buy it! Even though I haven't seen it yet! LOL!

yeah - hanks is a pretty remarkable actor. i've liked him in nearly everything i've seen him in. he did have a couple of clunkers early on - but i think he's past that now.

Splash, Big, Turner & Hooch, League, Sleepless, Philidelphia, Gump, Apollo, Toy Story, Thing You Do, Private Ryan, You've Got Mail, Green Mile, Cast Away, Catch Me If You Can, ALL of which I just loved and each one has it's own very memorable character played by Tom Hanks!!!!!!

YES! I did! I almost forgot that one! Again, he did such a tremendous job making himself become believable in that role! You forget that you're watching Tom Hanks pretend to be someone else!

exactly - which is how i typically judge a good performance. if i quite seeing the actor and see the character - then i know they have it nailed.

Just watched this tonight, very enjoyable, nice picture.
Tom hanks great as usual. Catherine Zeta Jones, she looked really good in this picture.
I had one problem with this flick "Product Placement".
I don't think I've ever seen it more blatant, very few scenes that you weren't bombarded with product.
They probably made more money from product placement then from the box office.

Used our gift card from the dentist to get 4 movies on Wednesday. (Gotta love Blockbuster's rent one/get one free Wednesdays!) We got Bridget Jones and Terminal. We watched Terminal last night. LOVED it!
