"The Ultimate Fighter 11" debuts March 31, features middleweight fighters
MMAjunkie.com
Dec 07, 2009

Following Saturday's announcement that UFC legends and former champion Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz will serve as coaches on the upcoming 11th season of "The Ultimate Fighter," Spike TV today unveiled additional information about the show.

"TUF 11," which goes into production next month, debuts Wednesday, March 31 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on the UFC's longtime cable home.

Although the call initially went out for both middleweight and light heavyweight fighters, Spike TV officials today announced the show will feature just middleweight competitors.

They'll presumably compete in the show's traditional 16-man single-elimination tournament while divided into two teams.

"The Ultimate Fighter" debuted in 2005 and has since launched the careers of more than 100 UFC fighters. The most recent season, which concluded this past weekend, was the highest rated in series history.

Liddell and Ortiz, who were introduced as coaches on this past weekend's live broadcast of The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale, both coach for the second time. Liddell, who comes out of an unofficial retirement for the gig, coached the debut season against Randy Couture, and Ortiz coached opposite Ken Shamrock on "TUF 3." As with most seasons of the show, Liddell and Ortiz will meet in a season-ending, coach-vs.-coach bout. (Liddell has won both of his previous matchups with Ortiz.)

The Ultimate Fighter

A good friend of mine is on this season. His fight to get into the house went 3 rounds and when someone had to leave due to injury he was called in as the wild card!!! Looking forward to seeing him fight again. Keep an eye out for Seth Baczynski, he is also writing the Team Ortiz blog on www.mmajunkie.com. So show a little love for the local Arizona guy!!!

IMO it looked like the guy used too much energy to start the fight, broke his hand and saw the knee that hit him in the chest as a way out. I am curious to see how the wild card works on that becuase the guy cant fight anymore. Do thye let the guy that threw the knees stay? I cant wait til the next episode. Oh and the guy with the fro is a punk but damn he can fight.

You see Kos pull a ultimate fighter and pretend to be hit by the knee? I hate that guy im glad daley sucker punched him lol

That was hillarious actually. He hit him with a illegal knee a few minutes later they didnt call so it was fair. Daleys punishment was fitting IMO. There is too much of a risk involved when those guys sucker punch someone.

DONT FORGET TO WATCH TONIGHT!!!!!!

Seth "the Polish Pistol" Baczynski

Sorry Tyler, I was unimpressed. He lost his first fight then worked to a draw (against a very weak fighter) in the first 2 rounds. He then dominated the 3rd round showing his fitness level was twenty times better than the guy he faced.

I think he is going to get bounced quick in his next fight.

I will definately be watching.... And I look forward to the fight as well.

I have a friend in MMA in Northern VA. He originally trained with Steve Blackman here in Harrisburg. These guys all deserve our respect. The amount of punishment and dedication it takes to do this is uncanny.

Hopefully the fight is a barn burner!

Looked like a good one was developing -- too bad he kicked guy in the head

That was a pretty brutal kick. Ortiz is going to feel stupid for the way he acted after he sees the replay of that one.

Insane kick.....

Seth had a great body triangle going but seemed to impatient to just keep squeezing. It was a good stoppage IMO. Tavarez really came back hard after he got up.

Tito was a big baby after the fight..... The tv crew should have popped a replay up for them to see.

Dana White was hilarious during the yelling.

As far as my evaluation of Seth...

He need some serious grappling training. The dudes length is a huge asset but I couldn't see any wrestling ability. The body triangle is something that few MMA guys will ever be able to pull off, and it might be the most dominating position you can attain on the ground. Seth's striking, and fitness are up there, I just wish he was a bit more patient and well-rounded.

Man, that kick was brutal. Its a shame the fight had to end that way. I have to quotes from last night that are going to live with me forever.

1) During the first fight when everyone was yelling somebody yelled at Jamie Yaeger to shut up, priceless.

2) After Seth kicked Tavarez he dropped down and said Im sorry, Tavarez said "for what" that kick was freaking brutal, I think Seth thought he was in a street fight like back in high school.

yea, and then back at his corner he asked, 'what did he hit me with?'. He was definitely out of it.

Show was just ok for me.... That Jardine Hamil fight was a bloodbath.

Glad Yeager got dusted. And Court McGee was deserving of the title.

So my buddy Seth that we talked about during this season just won the interim welterweight Belt for Ringside MMA in Canada, he is close to making a return to the Octogon. Time will tell, he was told that he would be back after 3 wins, he has 2, with both being impressive and now a belt to hang in his living room. Dont sleep on my boy, he has the heart to make a comeback and compete.
