That league is funny. They now have 2 pending lawsuits for trademark violations one from one of the teams logos looking too much like the old Houston Oilers logo. That one is like a year old lawsuit. And now Sue Bird and Megan Rapinhoe are going to sue them because the X in their logo and ads looks very similar to the X in a trademark for a company that Sue Bird runs. Apparently they'd seen an earlier ad of it and told the XFL they considered it a copy and the XFL implied they'd change it but all they did is change some wording in the ad, not the logo, so they got a cease and desist from Sue Birds' company.

People are accusing them of just wanting free advertising by suing the XFL but if you see the logos it seems pretty apparent.

I read a story that says this is the 4th time in 3 years the XFL has been sued for a similar situation so apparently they don't worry too much about it

The Rock is one of the main owners and now has a partnership with the NFL now.

"The XFL today announced it has entered an exclusive partnership with the NFL Alumni Academy, an elite in-season training program for “NFL Ready” players led by former NFL coaches and players"

Could become a legit spring league for fringe players to get meaningful snaps.

That's the only way I see this working, but the partnership details are important. The league can't survive IMO without financial support from the NFL. The NFL has to be all in to create cross marketing and other partnership opportunities or it's doomed.

Won't start until next year. I enjoyed the couple of XFL games I watched before the pandemic killed it. I'm just a pro football junkie LOL
