We're not even 10 games into the season and already folks are crying about the season.:hulk:

Sure if the season ended today we would be out of the pennant race by 3 games and I'm sure everyone is tired of the old cliche "It's not how you start the season ..."

Don't get me wrong - how teams begin the season is a major factor in not only getting into october but for the how well they play for the entire season. Sure its no fun playing catch-up - but on the flip side of things a good start doesn't guarantee anything either.

Last year the braves opened last season by getting swept in 3 games by the expos - but by the end of April they were 17-10, which is a pretty good start in anybody's book - and finished with 101 games. Believe me I'm not comparing the D-Backs to the Braves - but we do have a wide open division where anything can happen.

Sure the d-backs are last in the majors in ERA, have given up the 4th most walks, and gives opposing hitters the 3rd highest on-base average. Sure the hitters are like 24th in hitting (0.239 avg.) and O.B.A. (0.310).

But seriously folks lets get april over with before we start allowing fat ladies to enter the building!

Besides Randy Johnson the D-Backs have a pretty young pitching staff. I would hope the improve as they get into the season but in reality it could go either way.

The question headed into the season was the pitching and it is no big suprise they are having trouble. I could handle the pitching situation but I can't deal with another year of defensive and execution errors like last season.

So far after a 2-5 start this board has:
Stated that we have not shot this season
Stated that we shouldnt have traded for Sexson and kept schilling and batista
(which we wouldnt have been able to do)
Called for Mark Grace's firing
Called for Robbie Alomar's retirement
Said we have the worst GM in baseball
Called for Bautista's head
Said randy johnson was done
Stated finley is a terrible lead off man

Settle down people, when have the Dbacks started off good?
1-5 in 1999 and won 100 games
4-8 in 2001 and won WS
4-5 in 2002 and won 98 games
3-11 last year, didnt turn out well but were like 46-35 at all star break
only year I can remember the dbacks starting off good was 2000 and they only won 85 games.

Give it time, i know its hard deal with it

Thought this is interesting:

East 18 wins 21 losses 0.46 win%
Central 28 wins 24 losses 0.53 win%
West 20 wins 21 losses 0.48 win %

With 1 less team we have more wins and equal losses compared to the east. And we are only 3 games back! :)

Hey I know this sucks but I'm sipping kool-aid okay?
