We're not even 10 games into the season and already folks are crying about the season.
Sure if the season ended today we would be out of the pennant race by 3 games and I'm sure everyone is tired of the old cliche "It's not how you start the season ..."
Don't get me wrong - how teams begin the season is a major factor in not only getting into october but for the how well they play for the entire season. Sure its no fun playing catch-up - but on the flip side of things a good start doesn't guarantee anything either.
Last year the braves opened last season by getting swept in 3 games by the expos - but by the end of April they were 17-10, which is a pretty good start in anybody's book - and finished with 101 games. Believe me I'm not comparing the D-Backs to the Braves - but we do have a wide open division where anything can happen.
Sure the d-backs are last in the majors in ERA, have given up the 4th most walks, and gives opposing hitters the 3rd highest on-base average. Sure the hitters are like 24th in hitting (0.239 avg.) and O.B.A. (0.310).
But seriously folks lets get april over with before we start allowing fat ladies to enter the building!
