Day two will be a very long day. Perhaps the Cards will shorten it by once again jumping up to get their guy, as they did last season. With Charles and Smith still on the board, the Cards can still acquire a premier running back. The Cards would likely have to work through the Dolphins, as he Rams are rumored to want to acquire a runner to take some of the load off of Jackson. The Cards could also grab the end they need to spread the field, since Caldwell is bizarrely still on the board. A top lineman, Greco, is also still available. Beyond them, no one is worth going up to get unless they have fallen in love with Morgan or Booty. It would cost at least the fourth round pick to go up to the top of the round, but I’d do it in a heartbeat if they can find a trading partner and get one of those backs.
Even if they don’t move up there are quite a few players still on the board who could help. Two tight ends, Rucker & Cottam, have different games, but could likely be of value. Zuttah from Rutgers could become a first rate guard. Bell from UNLV, could add some strength in the middle of the linebacker unit. If I can drag myself out early tomorrow (pity you guys in AZ), I’ll try to make a more comprehensive review.
