How can there be miscommunications between QB and WRs when there have been no changes to the personnel? That is coaching...

Very possible but I'm not ruling out CP might have been to blame only because CP did not look right today. His arm looked weak, the balls didn't have snap on them. The accuracy wasn't great and he wasn't seeing the field. The arm strength issue is something new for me, the accuracy and not seeing the field issues are not new tho. Who knows what the problem is.

I'm guessing Wiz because of the parallel of us having a quality but aging qb with no solid option for their imminent departure.

The people on this team that should have been replaced before the season are: Bettcher, ST coach, punter and long snapper. I still don't know how you go into a season with super bowl aspirations and have a rookie long snapper. Pure ego is what kept us from signing a more experienced veteran. Same with punter. Why have we kept him so long. Last year I gave Bettcher the benefit of the doubt but it's obvious he is over his head. This is starting to remind me of Wiz keeping Russ Grimm around when it was obvious he sucked.

Great post. The ST coach is Amos Jones. People need to know his name. He's horrible. Someone posted a video of his practice session, and it's a joke. BA said early on that Amos was going to pick the LS, and I knew that was a joke. Running an injured, already terrible punter out there is a joke. At a minimum, bring in someone else, cut Butler and let him heal. NO team is signing him. Then resign him if you must (I wouldn't, but the point is nobody is signing him so there's no "risk" of losing him. And BA is arrogant. I'm very worried that he is the Offensive version of the opposing coach today.

And Burque said in another post, dressing 5 DL and 5 CBs against a running team is a joke.

Amos Jones and James Bettcher are below average NFL coordinators and it shows. Neither gets anything more out of their personnel. Arians and Keim are still figuring it out, but have shown flashes.

this game is on our arrogant front office who thought we could run this season with a rookie long snapper and could keep going with an injured punter.

Period. End of story. BA's arrogance has bled onto the field and into personnel decisions.

Is it a good idea to have your punter also be the holder for field goals? Do we have a backup holder? Apparently not as our holder was limping badly and his short punt led to a TD. On the bad long snap the injured holder may have got that ball if not for his bad leg. It is hard for me to believe we do not have a backup holder for FG. QBs are usually good at handling a ball why not use your backup QB as a hoder? That could even open up other trick options. I think we should take kickers, punters. long snappers more seriously when we draft. They can win or lose a lot of games over the season. Another thing I wonder about is our coach actually scripting 30 plays to start the game. That seems absurd as you have no idea of exactly how the defense is set up or what will work on any given down. Of course the QB can change the play scripted at the LOS but he may be reluctant to. This was one of the worst games I have seen the Cards play in a long time. Much of it is on the coach.

You don't want to waste a roster spot just on a holder. That's why punters are the holders.

Let's face it, the only way Amos or Bettcher is going anywhere is if M. Bidwill and S. Keim step in and tell BA they have to go. If they don't do that then expect to see them here until BA is gone. I can only hope that the first thing that happens come Monday morning is Canady gets release and they bring in several snappers to audition for the job. Hell see if our backup center can snap the long ball.

It would be a good way to start to work Boehm into the mix. That should always be the case. Why hold three roster spots for ball-snappers?

Dumb question, but what FA long snapper is out there?

No, it's a good question. Every LS had to start as a rookie at some point in their career. BASK decided to go in that direction and unfortunately they picked one with the yips.
