This HAS to be one of the most painful SB losses in history no?

We all know the gut-punched feeling of losing the SB, I was physically sick to my stomach for over a week.

This has to suck so bad for Seahawk fans (Maybe buffered a bit by at least having last years SB win)

The Cards lost (IMO) primarily because of a gutless defensive coordinator.

The Bills had a huge kick in the nads with a missed FG.

Are there any other SB losses in history that would be as devastating?

It's heartbreaking for the fans, but such a stupid call.

Has to be one of the worst calls in that situation in Superbowl history. Seriously...you have the best RED ZONE RB in the NFL and you don't run the ball???? WTH?

I think this is one of the greatest losses ever. And it couldn't happen to a crappier bunch of guys (sans Wilson) and they showed it on the kneel down.

Ours was way more devastating IMO we were up.. There is still no Guarantee even Lynch gets in even though it would have been the smart call.

No there wasn't but the odds were heavily stacked in your favor to take multiple cracks with the guy. Instead? You throw a super high risk, high traffic pic play in the end zone?

You simply can't do that.

Actually they showed you can ;)

But all in all I think our loss way more of a sucker punch we had the lead… Pitt stole it in amazingly dramatic fashion. Where as this may have been a dumb call yes. but still no guarantee they score the other way either.

Here is the big difference for me. I thought there was no way Lynch was not getting the ball and not getting in.

In our game? If you didn't think Ben could drive down the field and score you have not been watching the dudes career. I knew they were very capable of doing that. I was just hoping we would hold em.

I never thought in a million years Lynch would not get the ball and to do what he does better than anybody in the NFL. If I was a Seahawks fan I would be thinking we got this...give it to Lynch.

Same here. And it was just second down right? Lynch would have had THREE tries to punch it in.

I'll guarantee you he would have been successful on one of those carries. I don't believe he had one carry that didn't net at LEAST one yard. The coaches outsmarted themselves.

Much like San Fran years ago....1st and goal at the 3 and they pass it.

Nope. Even after we scored the go ahead touchdown, nobody felt like we had the game in the bag bc there was too much time on the clock. I think everybody thought the Seahawks had this game won. 2nd down from the 1/2 yard line with 30 seconds left, a timeout, and Beast Mode in the backfield. Seahawks snagged defeat from the jaws of victory bc of one off the worst play calls in SB history. Way more devastating.

I imagine the conversation between Bevell and Carroll was similar to this.....

Only Bevell said "Easy call coach, run Lynch somewhere Wilfork isn't...right?"

You are assuming Marshawn gets in.. Likely yes but hardly a guarantee.

Agree to disagree. Especially for a group of fans that has our history and no rings yet in the pocket.

The thing is Seattle did it to them self. Certainly the worst play call in the history of the Super Bowl. Can't be as painful as the Bills one where they made all the right calls and the kicker missed a point blank field goal.

There is no way the Pats stop Lynch on 3 straight runs. Hopefully Bevell and Carroll are held accountable for throwing away a Super Bowl win. I especially feel bad for the receiver who made the amazing catch 2 plays prior. Just absolutely shocking to lose confidence in your star player that took you this far, and had already ran for over a 100 yards in the game. I would imagine that was Lynch's last game in Seattle.

Both Green Bay and Seattle made some horrible coaching calls this offseason. Carroll's risky calls worked out well against GB, but the luck ran out at the end there. It's ironic that the luck ran out at a time when the didn't need luck, just confidence in the Pro Bowl RB and offensive line.

It was idiotic not to give Lynch the ball there. Did he even have 1 carry that gained 0 or negative yards?

Wide right. Yep, that one was a killer. Not exactly a gimme (47 yards), but still, that hurts, especially when you consider it was the first of 4 consecutive SB losses for the Bills. Gut wrenching.

They had the lead too. Up by 10 in the 4th quarter. And I'd say they lost it in pretty dramatic fashion LOL.

Well they do have one ring. I can see the call both ways. If everyone expected Lynch then try to surprise them with a quick throw. When this kind of thing happens you will always be second guessed.

The one I always remember also involves belicheat. When Norwood was wide right with a chip shot. Considering that was the on true shot for the bills that one stands out to me.
