This HAS to be one of the most painful SB losses in history no?

We all know the gut-punched feeling of losing the SB, I was physically sick to my stomach for over a week.

This has to suck so bad for Seahawk fans (Maybe buffered a bit by at least having last years SB win)

The Cards lost (IMO) primarily because of a gutless defensive coordinator.

The Bills had a huge kick in the nads with a missed FG.

Are there any other SB losses in history that would be as devastating?
The 2 Patriot losses come to mind. The first, the Tyree catch, cost them an undefeated season. The 2nd, on another circus catch to sustain a drive, cost them their 4th Super Bowl at that time. Truth be told, had it not been for 2 game saving circus catches by the Giants, the Patriots would have been hoisting their 6th trophy tonight.

Other heartbreaking losses, the Rams loss to NE on a last second FG. Same for Carolina. Kevin Dyson being tackled 1 yard short of tying the game against the Rams. Or the Bills, going 4 times in a row and losing 4 times in a row.

And if Lynch gets the ball on the 1 yard line they'd still have 3. Perfect example of why that logic doesn't work in sports. What happens, happens.

Good stuff, that's what I was looking for.

As for the Hawks losing in this fashion?

I laughed so hard I gave myself a migraine. :biglaugh:

Never been this happy after a Super Bowl in my life.

The one I always remember also involves belicheat. When Norwood was wide right with a chip shot. Considering that was the on true shot for the bills that one stands out to me.
It wasn't a chip shot though. It was 47 yards I believe.

Most painful? I thought it was one of the most satisfying losses ever :D

This. I loved the look on Richard Sherman's face to. Priceless! Ball on the one and they pass it. That is so funny. That will be a fond memory for years to come. Only thing better would have been a complete blowout by the Pats but Seattle will be crying over that play call for the next decade. (Evil laugh) buhahahahahahahaha!

It was a brutal loss but if you told me the Cards win the Super Bowl next year followed by a choke in the title game the year after that, I'd take it.

^^this

I didn't even think it was a bad call, just not necessary. That quick slant works most of the time, rarely picked off, as good as a run play typically. That NE corner just made an outstanding play. I couldn't stop laughing, great end of game.

There was glee in my heart, a big smile on my face, and satisfaction galore! This may have been the most wonderful ending to a Super Bowl I have ever witnessed. To see the Seahags lose in this fashion after that ridicules catch is priceless.

No there wasn't but the odds were heavily stacked in your favor to take multiple cracks with the guy. Instead? You throw a super high risk, high traffic pic play in the end zone?

You simply can't do that.

Honestly I was thinking the exact same thing the announcers were saying, if they run it, NE might let them score so they have more time on offense.

I'll guarantee you he would have been successful on one of those carries. I don't believe he had one carry that didn't net at LEAST one yard. The coaches outsmarted themselves.

It was idiotic not to give Lynch the ball there. Did he even have 1 carry that gained 0 or negative yards?

Yes he did, they had a third and one in the second half ( I think 3trd Q) where he actually lost yardage. They punted after that.

Cards dumb pass play resulting in the Harrison interception length of the field TD (he stepped out) right before halftime.Cards had momentum snatched away right there.Still Cards comeback to take the lead but you just knew Rothlesberger had too much time to work with. That was a heartbreaker.Harrison interception,Harrison penalty where he should have been ejected.Too many factors going against Cards that night to overcome.

Seattle went one for three pounding Lynch on third and short.

They said on NFL network that Lynch on the season had 5 attempts from the 1 yard line and only scored on 1 of them… Hardly a guarantee he scores like so many proclaim. Especially with Big Vince clogging the middle on a stacked 8 man front.

The thing is Seattle did it to them self. Certainly the worst play call in the history of the Super Bowl. Can't be as painful as the Bills one where they made all the right calls and the kicker missed a point blank field goal.

On what planet is a 47 yard field goal attempt "point blank". It isn't like Norwood pulled a Finkle and missed a 26 yarder. 47 yards is hardly a chip shot.

Again, on what planet is 47 yards a chip shot? I think people forget how long that attempt was.

I agree.
I think I remember the percentage chance of hitting a 47 yard field goal was between 55 and 60 percent. Hardly chip shot percentages.
