So Sunsman44 gets banned for having a signature that says, "Arwillan thinks 30-Year-Old Udoka Is A Project-Player" (pretty damn funny, btw) while there are users out there indirectly making fun of Sunsman44 with no consequences? Hmm. Interesting.

well you can check my sources if you want, but people on spurstalk have posted interview where popovich (the best coach in the nba right now) says directly that ime is a work in progress and the reason they brought him in is to work with bowen to replace him when he retires. so while he may not be a typical project player, he is a "work in progress". 30 years old or not, he is there to learn from bowen (because he has a similar skill set) and eventually to replace him.

huh, i COMPLETELY DISAGREE. if he's getting disparity treatment from the mods (which judging from bufalay's avatar i would say is accurate) then appealing to them for justice in a pm is useless. he's right to bring it out into the open.

i don't care if people don't like what he has to say. i do care that he is mercilessly hounded on this board. i think that's complete and utter bs. i think those that hound him are small minded. disagree with his points. debate his points. but the belittling is awful. for me its YOU people attacking 44 now that get me annoyed.

lamar odom i think he should have been able to handle, but not TD. Td is arguably the greatest power-forward of all time and has quite a bit of size over marion. Other than the likes of garnett, pj brown, and dwight howard i dont think anyone out there can satisfactorily match up to tim duncan. his fundamental genious is just too good. Marion could maybe be effective as a help defender on duncan, but not 1 on 1.

anyway, the point about lamar odom is valid. that is rather disheartening

1. I'm not your friend. 2. He guards Odom fine, the Suns throttle the Lakers regularly. No one can guard TD and shut him down. Why are you asking a Small Forward to shut down a large Power Forward? You have ridiculous assumptions on what Marion should be able to do, yet when I give you a freakin' chart, tracking Marions (insanely consistent, and excellent) numbers you say "I don't understand that chart."

You're like a child who no matter how many times he's told "the stove is hot", you keep touching it. Marion is a very good basketball player, he can't do everything, but why do you expect ridiculous things from him? Why don't you say you hate Nash for being a poor defender and not getting the Suns a title?

Umm. Yeah. Valid points except for the fact that A) D'Antoni thinks he is still a power forward and B) He still plays power forward for the Suns because Suns don't have any power forwards whatsoever. So don't give me the "asking a small forward to guard a big" hogwash. Go tell this to D'Antoni. Not me.

Ouchie, the guy starts threads about HIMSELF ad naseum. He's an attention *****, plain and simple. I do agree about the avatar thing though and I never had a problem with his "style" and I thought that the hounding him was ridiculous, but he brings a lot of it on himself. Come on guys. This is common sense here. When you give up three inches on a guy with long arms, you are going to give up some baskets. Shawn is not supposed to be the end-all of INTERIOR defenders. Did we forget that he is a SMALL FORWARD guarding POWER FORWARDS?

He manages to get some blocks and he manages to play ok interior defense when they are ten feet or so from the hoop. But Lamar Odom is going to score on a smaller guy when he's 6 feet from the hoop. I don't see why this is shocking. Dirk (when motivated to do so), Duncan, Odom...these guys are going to be able to post Shawn up.

Shawn was not the reason the Suns lost in the playoffs, as much as you try to twist it.

Stupid. Because when Nash is out of the game Suns blow their leads and never play up to par. Everytime Nash is out, the Suns struggle. This is no mystery. Every Suns fan knows this. Happens every night.

But when you take out Marion, this doesn't happen. Guys like Amare and Diaw take on the load.

Nash is the centerpiece of the team. Not Marion. It is sheer stupidity to ask to get mad at a 2-time MVP for not winning a championship instead of Marion.
