Straight up, they beat the refs, the chickens, and Palmer. :D Palmer actually did throw a TD and all is forgiven this week. But this defense is nasty nasty business, I tried to tell the chicken fans that Wilson doesn't make it back with Tom Hanks but they didn't listen. This D can abuse teams, good teams, and they will only get better, that's scary.

All three parts are playing so well. Dline, LBs and the Secondary.

But for my money, we are a top defense because Dansby and DWash are a dynamic duo. They complement each other so well, and both have a nose for the ball and making big plays. Dansby has just been nails. He's the team MVP, and if he was playing like for Dallas or the Giants he would be Defensive MVP of the NFL.

I hear you but you nailed it with the all 3 parts thing bruddah. Secondary left Wilson with no where to throw to. Front guys gave Wilson no time while stopping the run. And that duo man, they knew when to contain lanes and when to go, when to drop into coverage and when to just stay put. Awesome game by this defense, awesome game by this team. Very happy hippie on the mic right now! :)

Yeah, it was totally a team effort. Jerraud Powers is unsung, but he had one hell of a game today. His best as a Cardinal for sure.

Yamon, Im still trying to figure out who made that stop on first and goal after the Chickens interception. Scattles was on his way in for the score, and it was either Jefferson or Bethel that came in and just flat took him down. That was the stance that ended with the DOINK off the up right. That goal line D was killer, stole the mo right back.

No doubt that was the series of the game. Jacking up Lynch twice (notice he made NO forward progress when he got hit, and bouncing off hits is totally his claim to fame) and then getting all over Wilson and their receivers on third down.

Then, don't forget they got a penalty on the first FG attempt. I even told my friend, "Well, they are so close that penalty won't make a difference". And, it turned out to make all the difference on the next kick as he drilled it into the post.

Yup, Dansby made the second tackle when they ran Lynch again....for no gain! :) Then both teams called time outs, and after that Wilson threw a duck into the enzone. That series was so Cardinal epic, hippie hard on for real. :D

Totally, of all the things in football, a goal line stands fire me up more than anything else. And, from when I played, it seemed the whole team got fired up form a stop like that. Even more than a an INT or fumble.

Yes, when you make someone your lady friend with the whole world watching, the tide does change, new things become possible. That was unreal, best damn defense in the League, we are talking Super Bowl Caliber no doubt.

Glad you are back, your posts always make me smile. Forget the Apple a day keeps the Doctor away - I believe a couple hippie quotes a day keeps the blues away.

For sure. But, they would not have the ability to be so dynamic of not for the incredible work being done upfront by Campbell, Dockett and Williams.
It's a total unit effort that leads to this type of success...

You said it bro, giving Dan Williams some long overdue credit, both he and Ta'amu!

Agreed. Best defense I have ever seen in AZ by far. It has been suffocating at times which I have never seen before.

Think of how scary this defense can be with a beast pass rusher. But as for the best Cards defense, the 1994 defense was pretty good(2nd or 3rd overall IIRC) but we had no offense to speak of. But this defense is more dynamic than the '94 defense. I can't wait until next season.

It has had a beast pass rusher the last 6 to 8 weeks ;)

Thats exactly what it would look like. :p

This defense is the primary reason we are still in the hunt. Palmer has been well......Palmer and with a lessor defense we would be debating the draft right now.

Tony Jefferson

I believe it was the 2nd and goal play where Tony Jefferson filled the whole and blasted Lynch nice and low. He may not have finished the tackle, but he completely stopped Lynch in his tracks. That kid Jefferson has great instincts for the game.

Been watching this team since the late 1970s and this is without a doubt the best defense we have ever had. Such a joy to watch.

After Wilson got blasted quite a few times, there were some plays where he could have run for a 1st down, but you could see he was like "Nah, let me just try to squeeze the ball into this tight window".

Powers had a great game. Frostee Rucker really contributed. Nobody can block Campbell. Man this is so awesome. If we get into the playoffs, nobody will want any part of this nasty D coming off the bus!!

I'm talking about a Jared Allan/Robert Quinn type. John Abraham has been damned good though and probably the best FA signing this franchise has ever had.

Yep, I just really really want this unit to get a chance in the playoffs. They've been unsung for so long now due to Whisenhunt's quarterback clown car that my guess is they'd take full advantage of their chance to shine.
