14:40 PT: Ira Miller, of the San Francisco Chronicle, reports for The Sporting News that the San Francisco 49ers will work with QB Cade McNown (shoulder) extensively in the off-season. A former first-round pick, McNown has not played since 2000.

Maybe Bill Walsh thinks he has the next Jake Plummer.... since he thought Plummer was the next Montana!!!! Too funny!!!!!!

This is your basic LOW risk, High reward type deal. It may seem funny, but you never know. This kid was a first rounder for a reason. He is probably a bust but MAYBE, JUST MAYBE they can make something out of him. I'm not counting on it, but like I said Low risk, High reward type situation.
