had nothing to do with McCown, the WR's or the RB's.
It had to do with the O line and not being able to stop the run around end.
Which is exactly what happened last.
You can't get your game going if the horses don't do what their supposed to.

unfortunetly except for shuffling here and there we have to more or less run what we brung at this point,
big is out we need speed and athleticism on the o line, another draft and some free agent work and we'll have it

I was going to start a comparable thread..then I read this one. Although I think Mccown has a problem seeing the field and finding open receivers - it is hard to tell because he has no time to set up and look downfield -because he has to dodge defenders and take off running.....I have no idea if Mccown will every be able to figure this out - but it is impossible to tell given the amount of time he has to throw.....

Seeing Highlights of Thomas Jones and Jake Plummer make me realize that most qbs and rbs would look bad behind this oline. I would speculate that Shelton could be starting soon at a spot...Leonard davis and clement are huge disappointments, wells and step are new and Spikes is not very good.....not a good combination.

I saw the same thing. It seemed like it was mostly AC at RT that is the squeeky wheel right now. Davis has struggled at times but overall he seemed pretty solid to me.

So tell me which one of the offensive lineman threw those picks into double coverage?

Oh and which o-lineman was it that would drop back, stare down his receiver then tuck it and run around with like a chicken with his head cut off??

I am not blind. The o-line, especially the right side, stinks. But there were at least a half a dozen occasions in the second half where McCown had plenty of time to find an open receiver or throw the ball away. And many times he ran around back there and played 'sandlot' football.

Offensivly this was a bad game in every aspect...but that includes the QB as well!!!!

And, again, I absolutely love this team... But the play calling was not overly exceptional... The one GREAT thing we have going for us is coaching, right? When do we get to see that part?

The problem with the offense is from top to bottom. There's not one unit that can't get a LOT better. Play calling is important, but execution is more so. You are not going to trick the Patriots and make them look silly with the squad we have right now.

One example, after the Berry fumble return, we ran Smith on the first play and got two yards. Then, we brought in two TEs, only Karl Williams was split out. The play was a run fake, bootleg with Williams running a curl in the endzone. It was the perfect call. There was single coverage, the Pats sold out on the run, and Williams broke open. The problem? McCown was getting crushed before he could even think about delivering the ball.

Although, the WR's could have gotten open a bit more.

MCCown admits he tried to press and make something happen.
It's like an underskilled fighter, you keep getting peppered so eventually you throw looping rights and lefts., or a kid timed on a test for the first time, you rush and make silly mistakes.
The O line got beat by the same LB withg the same blitz twice in a row!
It's hard to see who's open or not when all your doing is running.
Matter of fact ,that same LB was in our backfield so much, he should have been wearing our colors.
No the whole game was'nt JUST the O line, but read the papers, the O-line knows, the brunt of this loss is on them.
