Allow me to take the high road here...

I've talked a lot of trash in my time, but one thing I've never found the need to do is to declare "fill-in-the-blank (team) sucks."

I've never understood the logic.

If I say that your team sucks, and say it often enough...what is a victory worth? Using my own words against me, I would then be bragging about a win over a team which I have made clear, in my opinion, sucks.

I just don't get it.

Simple.

I was born in Van Nuys and lived in Reseda (both in Cali for those not in the know).

First team I ever followed - the local team, the Los Angeles Lakers. Norm Nixon was my favorite player and I was ticked when he was traded.

Been a diehard Lakers fan ever since I can remember.

Moved to AZ when the only pro team here was the Suns.

Got into 3 teams from the ground up: Cardinals, Coyotes, and D-Backs.

I'm for complete loyalty in each sport too, so I am a diehard Lakers, Cardinals, Coyotes, D-Backs fan. I don't believe in having secondary teams...or "my other favorite team..." in any sport.

I was always into basketball (Lakers), but only casually into football (Rams), baseball (Dodgers), and hockey (Kings) so it was easy to jump on board the new franchises as they started up. I still have some old memoribilia, ticket stubs, etc from when I followed those other teams, but from the day I decided to follow the new AZ teams I've never rooted for the other teams of my youth.

Got hooked on the NFL when the Packers and Broncos played a game at SDS the season before we landed the Cards. I can't imagine sitting at home on a Sunday if I was in a city where a game was being played (whether it's on tv or not). You've just got to be in the stadium on game day!

Simple enough?

Wow, didnt think it warranted a 5 pargraph essay lol. I understand what ya saying. But the Suns give back to this city thru charities. So I will continue to give you crap till you turn your alligance.

Although I really don't like the lakers at all, I find this post a little pointless.

Also, I am sure there are alot of people on here that are a fan of either the suns or cards and not the other. Thats not all that uncommon.

Also I would not say they "suck" they almost beat us. They are not the suns of course and I hate them more than any other team in the NBA, but they don't exactly "suck".

I don't know about SweetD, but that's the reason I think this thread has survived. I figured it was just having a little fun at a friend's expense. Of course if I see a thread that starts out with a post saying "Phoenix Suns suck" I'll delete that in a heartbeat.
