Solved? No. Improved? Likely.

eh, maybe. I buy into firing DG. He needs to go but I honestly believe that the Cards simply do not have the talent on the oline right now and barring a blockbuster trade, it will take quite a while to get the talent in here to make this line significantly better.

So was the reason we didn't get different linemen because the owners didn't want to spend the money or because Green, with his ego, decided he could get a different line coach and "coach up" our current players?

well then, it's a good thing we conserved that cap space in order to have it in the future when the FA class is going to suck, rather than spend it during laast offseason's FA class. (you know, when there was actually talent there).

In your opinion

and I'm not sure why you just decided on focussing just on the O-line. We're still missing a starting LBer and CB depth, both of which we could have gotten in last year's FA (and actually had interviews scheduled, which were mysteriously canceled after Edge signed. I wonder what that reason was?)

No you don't wonder you believe you know, say after me 'The Bidwill's are cheap'

Oh there is a possiblity that some don't want to consider.

What is the truth, who knows, I just don't buy into the "We have cap space left because the Bidwill's are cheap' as the only possible answer.

It is one of the possible answers, not the only one.

here's the difference Nidan - I don't think "the Bidwills are cheap" is the ONLY answer - it's just the MOST PROBABLE, considering a) what we've seen from them in the past b) the fact that after Edge we had meeting scheduled with DBs and LBers which were then cancelled for no apparent reason, even though those areas CONTINUE to be problem areas and c) throw in DG's comments about Holmgren getting whatever his tream needs which was an obvious slight to the our management and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the most obvious reason we have all that cap room left is the ACTUAL reason - plain and simple.

Good lord! Everything I post is MY OPINION. I didn't realize that before EVERY POST I MAKE I SHOUDL WRITE: IMO.

Almost every post on this board from EVERYONE is their opinion. Look, Nidan, if you want to project that everything I say is fact, that's your problem - not mine. Everything I post on here is my opinion - it just happens to be that my opinion has a lot of evidence to back it, whereas your opinion has little to none. Again, that's your problem, not mine.

it was a rhetorical question Nidan - do you know what that means? you still didn't answer why we cancelled visits with players who weren;t on the o-line that were and still are pplayers of need. What were your rationales for that?

the cardianls added oliver ross the year before and milford brown this season. they thought so much of wells that the matched the offer of the bills. they figure step would come into his own this season and davis would dominate the left side. the year before the cardinals drafted elton brown and this season they drafted duece lutui. then to top it all off they hired looney to coach this offensive line up. the cardinals thought they had their offensive line problems solved. apparentlly they were wrong. now they know that they need to go after someone in fa and the draft. i say sign a free agent center and draft a tackle with the first draft pick.

I think the Cards and Jets are comparable cases. I wouldn't say that Mangini has turned that franchise around, because the reality is that they made the playoffs 3 times in Herm Edwards' 5 seasons. The difference is that they are less talented than the Cards, IMO, and were expected to have a record not much better than ours is now. Would we be 4-3 with their schedule? We'll see if we beat Detroit. We may well have beaten Miami. Would we have beaten Buffalo and Tennessee on the road? We should, but this team has a hard time living up to expectations.

For all we know the Jets will lose 5 in a row at some point, but at present, Mangini's team has a stability that Green's team does not.
