Hey I'm pretty sure they can still read and write in Jamaica, the guy has no excuse for a performance like that.

Tully Banta-Cain was born in Nigeria or some third world hole like that I believe, and he got a 35.

I think the term used by certain NFL coaches for players with low Wonderlic scores are "he's a slow blinker."

The draft guy from ourlads.com was just on KDUS and he mentioned some kid named Curtis (Utah) who scored a 48 this year but I don't see him listed. Said it was the 2nd highest score ever and the highest was by some punter from Harvard.

To be fair to some of them, the test doesn't take into account learning disabilties like some other broad tests can, and it's timed. Some might not realize that skipping a question is worse than answering one wrong on the wonderlic.

Hey, if a guy has a serious learning disability I'd cut him all the slack in the world. Wouldn't even subject him to the test.

I don't think that Miami can honestly claim that 10% of its players graduate each year because of learning disabilities, though.

How about the football classes of Oregon State since Erickson took over and brought his ghetto-thug-recruitment program with him?

Cincinnati, their graduation rate for the 90's was reported to be zero. Bob Huggins disputed the stat he says that some of those kids will ultimately go back to college and graduate. I'm sure Danny Fortson and Dontonio Wingfield intend to do so one of these days !

Supposedly the reason DerMarr Johnson has been such a bust with the Hawks is that he couldn't read the playbook when they gave it to him, honest to god, all he did at Cincy was just run around on the court and play street ball.

Yep Dermarr is notoriously slow to pick things up.

I'm not a big Huggins fan I think he's an excellent coach but I think he's essentially a pimp for players who for the most part have no business being in college. Not that any other school doesn't accept athletes that wouldn't get in as students, even Stanford does, but the guys at Cincy are there to do 2 things, lift weights, and play ball.

Dontonio Wingfield played one year there, he reported withdrew from school with a few weeks left in the season sparking rumors he was going pro. One teacher was quoted as saying "he didn't withdraw from school at all, he never showed up in the first place I haven't seen the kid all year."

Again the guy can coach but his teams seem to come up short every year and I have to think it's a function of the type of kids he recruits. They are all hungry players who play all out all year, during the season other teams take nights off, CIncy doesn't. but when the tourney starts everyone plays hard and suddenly Cincy isn't as good as they looked before.

Hell Lavin beat them last year!.

thats my name, exact spelling and everything.
Yeah, but what was YOUR shuttle time?

Though if the "other Kerry Carter" had to chase bad guys in and out of the arroyos near the border, you'd clean his clock.

Yes. Same guy. I think I said Utah but meant Utah St. He is smart and supposedly is a burner. Needs work on catching but that is the part that can be taught.
