Noticed a older gentleman today outside my office at the college in Texas I teach at wearing a cap that said 'Gorillas' on it. I remembered watching the John Brown highlights and their red and yellow uniforms and inquired if the cap represented Pitt State. He said yes and was astounded I knew about the small college and we proceeded to talk about John Brown. He kept going on and on about what a wonderful person John was. He apparently knew the kid well when he was in college and instead of talking about his wonderful talent, talked about his humility and work ethic... it speaks a lot about a young man when his character is the emphasis after such a good rookie season and it made me proud to be a Cardinal fan :)

Nice post JG-----------I remember Pittsburgh State when I was going to FT. Hays State in the very early 60's. They had a great football program then and apparently it has only gotten better. They gave us some very serious butt kickings back then.

It's also great to hear of John's great character too. He apparently made a huge impression on the guy you were talking to. Thanks for posting this.

I was impressed last off-season , when Palmer thought highly enough of JBs character to invite JB into his home .

John Brown, IMHO, is only going to get better. He has all the tools, and a good head on his shoulder. He has to get his passion under control from what I see. He definitely showed signs of hitting a rookie wall both physically and mentally at the end of the year. There where a few instances where he showed his frustrations with a errant pass from one of our back ups. Understandable, and yes, maybe splitting hairs, but when he can let a play go, and get ready for the next, he will become even more dangerous, and I think he will get there based on his character.

I went to Missouri Southern back in the day and we used to play PSU every season in what was called The Miner's Bowl; named for the coal mines that litter the area between the two towns. PSU would beat us every year in my memory and we hated them...except for the girls, of which I dated a few. Pittsburg, Ks was a great party town back in those days too because it was an "eighteen state". Fond memories of that place.

JB is my son's favorite player. He loves him. His highlight of the NFL Experience was getting JB's signature. He loves him for football reasons, in the heart and hard work areas, a small fast dude making huge plays, but the dancing doesn't hurt either. On the Rams TD (which happened right in front of us) my son literally jumped into my arms with excitement. He will be digging his JB12 jersey this summer for his birthday. ;)

Honey Badger is my youngest's favorite, but that's because they have the same odd charisma and he signed something for her and they had a "personality lock" and from then on she loves Tyraaaaaan.

My son currently attends PSU. When we arrived at the dorms this year one of the first people we met was from their media department. We told him we were from Arizona and Cardinals season ticket holders. He went on and on about how much fun it was covering and dealing with John Brown. Had nothing but good things to say about him. It was weird walking into some of the college stores and seeing Brown's Cardinals jersey hanging in the store.

Ron Moore was a beast as well.

no doubt. we all love John Brown, and he is going to have a heckuva career in the NFL. But yes, let's not forget Ronald Moore. He could pack a punch when he was carrying that rock. Nice program they have there at Pittsburgh State.

Awesome, Jetstream. Thanks for sharing.

It's especially nice to be reminded, on a day the media is focusing on the verdict out of Boston, that there are good and decent men playing in the NFL. Lucky us! We have the best of the best.
