Also, keep in mind that Peyton has worked with inexperienced players before, and his quick release and pre snap reads allow him to make up for their inconsistent play.

And get the ball in the air, but not to prevent himself from being creamed. Even with Warner, when our sack stats were down on a per-attempt basis, we still were on top of the league in QB hits.

Manning's offense in Indy--even with Ugoh--did a great job of keeping him clean altogether.

I think it is not far fetched that Peyton will make some requests if he plans to sign for us. He might be doing it now.
Give my QB coach a job, draft an o-lineman, bring me my boy Reggie Wayne and show me the money!

Our line was not good by any stretch but they were unfairly tarnished by Kolb's play. Kolb was taking a league worst 1 sack every 10 dropbacks, while Skelton was on par with the league averages at 7%.

Still BPA all day (PP is nice and it wasn't because DRC was getting shipped), but I love reading good stuff on cats that are from good sources. I hope we land one of the linemen that shouldn't be there when we pick. I know, longshot.com.

I think a couple maybe three (more likely 2) trades might go down this year with so many teams lacking/needing first and second round picks with certain needs (no Kolb bashing zone btw, it's pointless).

Between folks moving up and down for needs and hoopla, if we stick to the only good can happen formula...

I like the Keuchley pick very much, and can only imagine having him and Daryl Washington side-by-side backing up our defensive line in the middle. Both can get to the ball. Both can cover. Both can tackle. Can you say, "formidable in the middle"???

I agree that it is an exciting proposition. I like that pick very much, but damn, we just have to address the OL before we do anything else. If we don't, we are going to go through QBs faster than we can draft them, not to mention never developing a good running game. Those are just musts if we want to be a championship type team.

We need to sign one FA tackle that is an upgrade over either of our OTs. Then draft an OT with our 3rd round pick. And if DeCastro is available to us with our 13th pick, I just don't think it would be an intelligent football decision not to grab him, with the expectation that we have a future HofFer, in the mold of an Alan Faneca.

How long has it been since the Cards had an all Pro -future HofF type offensive lineman. It would be a real shot in the arm for all of our linemen.

While I get this type of thinking, I would prefer to upgrade either the offensive line or the pass rush before we addressed the SILB position. I just believe that the level of improvement to our roster would be better if we drafted DeCastro/Martin/Upshaw/Perry/Ingram in the first and then drafted a player like Wagner in the 3rd to upgrade our SILB spot. Protecting and getting to the QB are just so huge in todays NFL, I think we be doing ourselves a disservice by trying upgrade over Lenon/Bradley when these other areas are such huge needs.

There you and Sissy Boy go again,----- (making sense about what we should do with the O'line). All I can say about that, is that the O'line in general, (and Levi Brown in particular), don't seem to be very high on Whiz and Grimm's to-do list. I get the sense that they intend to keep Levi, (or rather sign him to a restructured deal after he tests free agency). Admittedly, he did play better toward the end of last season. I really don't see any real urgency to address our O-line however by the coaching staff.

I would like to see us take one of the three OT's in the draft, but they might all be gone before we pick. Actually, taking DeCastro makes the most sense to me, as he would probably be a lock to start for the next 13 years for the Big Red Line. THAT would be a great move in my opinion.

Barring addressing the O'line, Keuchley does it for me. With Lynch, Gore, and Jackson as RB's in our division, having a great ILB corps would be needed, and Keuchley paired with D-Wash makes a very formidable run stopping pair, (who incidently can also cover).

In any event, this will be an interesting off season indeed. I can't wait to see how the Manning 'stakes' plays out, and what we do in free agency. Then we can get really serious on the draft.

I like Keuchly but I think playing the ILB position is going to cause him to drop. For some reason, it's just not a high priority position and unless the guy is an athletic freak, they usually don't get taken very high. Is Keuchly really that much better of a prospect than a guy like Sean Lee, Laurinaitis, or Posluzny? He's not in the athlete class of Willis or McClain. Even Washington was/is a much better athlete. I think Keuchly is going to be good, I just don't see the Cards taking him unless they trade back a bit. There will be too many good players at higher impact positions still on the board at 13.

I agree Cbus...didn't we get a guy named Washington in Rd 2? Players of bigger impact are diffantly there at 13 if we stay there, but adding a possible #2 or #3 is intriguing
