I'm alse excited about Stephen Williams. I think he makes the team, altough he wont add much on ST. He has a very good hand eye coordination, and jump ball ability. Big target and we could add one more to the roster.

I think he is PS for a year or two to get stronger. But I think he has potential for sure.

I agree. With no ability to play ST, it's hard to make the team as 5th WR. For Hall it would mean beating out Skelton and we used a pick om him. Both Hall and Williams are in for playing PS this year, unless they do an extraordinary effort.

But I see the potential and footballplayers in these two, they may make the team eventually.

A.J. Jefferson, CB, 6-0, 190, Fresno St. This is a promising signing for the Cardinals. He fits the Henderson mold of bump and run style defense, and is particulary impressive in the red zone. Plus, add him to the ever-growing talent the Cardinals are amassing in the return game. Jefferson is still very raw (needs major work playing the ball, for example and needs to learn the nuances of off-coverage and zone)...but he fits the style because he's a long-armed physical press corner.

Winner winner chicken dinner.

I think we might have something in 2-3 years if he can either slip onto the final roster somehow or make the PS. I love all these tall athletic corners we are going after, no offense to mike adams, but I am a fan of corners being at least 6' tall.

I don't think the problem was having too many young players as it was having too many crappy young players. It's not like any of those guys went on to become good veterans.

Not completely. All but one of the guys selected by the Cards in the 2003 draft were still in the NFL last season. Four guys from the 2001 draft were still in the league last year. Three of them pro bowl players. LDavis, Wilson and KVB.

The Cards #1 pick in 2000 rushed for 1400 yards and 14 TDs last season.

:D

1. Not so fast re Jefferson - We've already seen a punter (Hunter?) go on and off our list, and LeGarrett Blount changed his mind about going to SF. So there may be other last-minute mind changes.

2. I have mixed feelings about Faneca. The man has a terrific pedigree and what the CW assumes is a positive history with Wiz and Russ. But Joeshmo makes a passionate case for Faneca's best days being a thing of the past and any future with the Cardinals a crashing disappointment.

I have no way of knowing whether or not Joeshmo is spot-on about Faneca, and therein lies my dilemma: Can we get one or two productive years from him (thereby making our running attack better while protecting our QB adequately)? Or is Joeshmo right, and we should forget about him altogether?

(Note - If the Cardinals feel Faneca can still be productive, he'd bring veteran leadership to a fairly young O-line).

I'm extremely excited about Max Hall. I like him more than Skelton, who i think is not accurate enough to play, and is not making progressions efficiently. However Skelton has all the potential to be a solid QB in the future.

Max Hall, I love the way he steps up in the pocket, and his throws are soft, and catchable. Sometimes he loses his mecahnics, throws across his body etc., and then he is not as good. But he has alot of pro QB in him to get excited about. He also seems as a leader to me. I like the fact he kept improving.

The great thing about Hall is that he has a very fast release. He will stick arround and find a place I believe.

I'm high on Max Hall also. One of my favorite college players to watch the last two years.

Daryl Green used to say somethink like 'All I need is one hand in there' and you have to admit he was pretty good.

It comes down to money and contract terms as well as chemistry. It would be great to get him and platoon him with another OG but that isn't realistic. Pulling him on obvious passing downs makes no sense but having him in there when we intend to road grade and run 8/10 of the plays or if we are wanting to protect a lead and wind down the clock. I just dont see him going for that. Although at vet minimum it might be a nice statement to SFran and Seattle that "we are going to bloody your nose".

Faneca would need to start. Reggie Wells is still only 29 heading into this season.

I think Grimm and Whis have proven that they wont change the line around drastically to fit in one temporary player. they prefer consistancy.
