Firmly planted in Mitch's doghouse never to coach again!
I said I didn't think he would land another HC job...not that he would ever coach again. Please be fair.

I thought Tressle would be an interesting hire-

I will bet you he won't be hired as a HC by any other NFL team, much the same way Jim Fassel was never hired after he was canned a few years after after he took the Giants to the Super Bowl.
Do you think other teams aren't paying attention to this debacle---???
These QBs and offensive tackles were all players Whisenhunt drafted and/or signed.
Plus---where have you been for the past three years?
The Super Bowl was 4 years ago.
* I feel about Ray Horton the same way I would if I were a Steelers' fan and Dick LeBeau was elevated to HC---I don't want anyone else but him to run the defense. This is why I would be happy if MB signed an offensive minded HC---because I do not believe that Horton will get a HC job this year and perhaps for a few years.
* If MB does hire an offensive HC (and there are several to be excited about: Mike McCoy, Jay Gruden, Kyle Shanahan, Tom Clements & more)---one can imagine he will give Ray Horton a raise and assistant HC status---not so sure that would appease Horton, but when he sees the higher figure on his paychecks that should ease the frustration somewhat.
Depends on which needs we fill in free agency.I think we're taking a chance if we don't elevate Horton.
But we do need a wonder worker for the QB position, and someone who will develop the run game.
Another OT, OG/C and RB will go a long way towards that.
I think Ray would emphasize the run a Great Deal More.
For this team now, it may be the way to go.
They will also need to address the ILB spot as well.
Would you take Te'o over an OLman 1st??
As I think they will draft QB in the 2nd, RB in 3rd or 4th RD. depending who is there.
If Ball (Wisconsin) or Taylor (STanford) are there at their 3rd RD. pick, I think they'd have to jump all over that. Or possibly Lattimore (S. Carolina)
Romeo Crennel is available as a DC, I wish everyone would get off the Horton love, if you put Romeo in charge of our defense it will only get better.
McCoy is my favorite choice, Arians is another one.
McCoy & Arians would be solid choices! We need to go with a HC with OC background!
The Cardinals are always good at something and poor at another and that is the blueprint for being mediocre.
I have a feeling it is going to be McCoy, and he stands the advantage for interviewing after Horton since his responses will be fresh on Michael's mind when he decides. I think Horton is an amazing DC, and possibly might be a good head coach but McCoy with his offensive background carries the antidote to the table for our affliction- bad QB play, poor OL, and a overall lethargic offense. If it is Horton, I will still be optimistic as well but our serious flaw is offense. It is an unfortunate Catch 22, and seems to be the history of the Cardinals. The history which cements our mediocrity. We never seem to gel on both sides of the ball. Great defense last season, but poor offense. Hire Horton, and the defense will probably remain great but the chances of the offense still failing are possible. Sign McCoy and our offense might become good but does a loss of Horton mean our defense will falter back to pre-Horton performance. The Cardinals are always good at something and poor at another and that is the blueprint for being mediocre.

Rather than worry about whether a defensive mind like Horton will be too run oriented, I'd rather we focus on protecting the strong part of our franchise (the defense) and then invest new people and resources toward bringing our offense up to the level of our defense. (The opposite strategy would be to hire all offensive-minded people first and let the defense fend for itself. Don't like it - it could leave us with a weakened defense while we still had to struggle with building the offense).
