Throwbacks are freakin' sweet...now

Watching the game tonight between Buffalo and New England I'm reminded of how much I enjoyed the throwbacks during the HOF game. I mean, I really like them.

It got me wondering about a couple of things. Do I like them because it's a change of pace and why don't I recall enjoying throwback games from the past as much?

First, I think in this particular game's case I would prefer to see these uniforms week in and week out over what their regular uniform now is. I already know I like the powder blue of the Chargers more than their current style. Actually, a throwback to the '80's uniforms would be best for me.

But the other part is I think I'm enjoying the throwbacks a lot more because they are only going back to the 60's. It took me a minute to figure it out but it seems like all the previous throwbacks have been to so long ago that they just don't look right.

I'm really looking forward to seeing some of the throwbacks on tap for this year and tonight's game is a good example of how the NFL got it right back then. The Bills and Pat's are just popping off my hi-def screen and the bright colors are very noticeable in comparison to their normal muted, dark coloring schemes.

I don't have a problem with them looking ridiculous as shaky as they usually are. Maybe dressing like creamsicles will discourage the many of them that are so eager to get their faces on tv and seemingly wanting to make the game about them rather than the teams.

Bills love their throwbacks because they usually win with them on. They try to wear those unis whenever they can. Unfortunately for the Bills, the league only allows teams to wear their "throwback" or "3rd alternate" jersey twice a season. It was a point of contention for them about 3 or 4 years ago if I remember correctly.

I never quite understood why the Pats changed their uni's. The old ones are awesome & their new ones are one of the worst in the NFL.

I can't stand the Raiders, but those silver numbers on the white jerseys look sharp. They should wear them all the time.

I am glad to see the 9ers went back to their old uniforms and I know I am going to get thrashed for this BUT

I like the old Cardinal uniforms a lot better than the ones they have now.

Almost all the old jersies are better than the new ones. I agree that the worst changes were New England and Denver. The Jets made the right move in going back to their old ones in the 90s.

I like our new ones. They kept most of the old feel. it was done right.

What about copying the unis we wore in 1947 if that is the year we won the championship?
and if I'm wrong on the year please correct me. I like plain Uniforms, but all white with a small Cardinal on the helmet would not be enough. Does anyone remember the colors then? I remember we played the Steelers at SDStadium in our throwbacks and they were like Bronze pants and helmets and off-white jerseys--something like that. We beat them too if I remember..

Agree about the Raider uniforms. They did look very good last night.

Also agree about the Cardinal uniforms...I still like the solid color red jerseys they used to wear.

The Raiders and Cardinals long had some of the best uniforms. Both were incredible simple schemes, and I wish the Cardinals would back to a version of them. I liked the version with black stripes, I liked the more recent pants with double red or white stripes. More than anything, I think fans looked much better in the old jerseys...
