Tonight the Thunder visit the Suns with Westbrook chasing a record triple-double. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. Arizona time.

Here is more from the ESPN Preview:

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook will take a second crack at NBA history Friday night when he seeks a record-breaking 42nd triple-double against a team that has offered him little resistance this season, the Phoenix Suns.

Four days after their city hosted the NCAA Tournament championship game, basketball fans in Phoenix could get an opportunity to witness Westbrook break the record set by Oscar Robertson in 1961-62.

There is more at stake for the Thunder (45-33) against the Suns than just individual glory. They need one more win to assure themselves of no lower than the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference playoffs, which would assure they wouldn't have to face the San Antonio Spurs in the first round.

Actually, the Thunder have a much better chance of moving up than down in the Western standings. They still could get as high as No. 4 -- which would mean home-court advantage in the first round -- as they battle the Utah Jazz (48-30) and the Los Angeles Clippers (48-31) for the fourth, fifth and sixth positions.

The Suns prevailed in Oklahoma City's last visit to Phoenix, which was more than a month ago, but they have won just twice since. They will be shackled by a franchise-record 13-game losing streak when they face the Thunder.

Any Suns fans excited about Westbrook breaking the all-time triple double record tonight ?

Oscar Robertson held the record.

I'm not sure about the triple double average stuff though. So is it actual triple double games or is it an average?

Westbrook is such a stud. Does he have any weakness as a player?? If he breaks the triple double record that would be something.

He's so INTENSE.

Westbrook is intense and excellent. However, he does have his detractors in regards to how some of those stats are achieved.

It looks like he'll average one for the season, which hasn't been done since Oscar Robertson in the 60's and the record for triple doubles in a season is 41 games, he is tied for that record right now and will likely pass that before the season is finished.

Another thing of note about Westbrook averaging a triple double and having 41 so far this year, he's doing that in about 10 less minutes per game than Oscar did. The pace of the game is also slower, with teams averaging about 25 fewer possessions per game. Pace is something that can be argued because the game has changed but averaging a triple double while playing almost 10 minutes less a game than the last guy who did is really impressive.

When Len bumps into Adams, he doesn't move.

Suns up 7-2 early.

Westbrook missed an easy layup.

Suns lead 32 -19 after the 1st quarter.

The Suns played very aggressive.

Westbrook with 1 point, 5 rebounds and 2 assists.

I understand Westbrook tries to get his teammates involved early. If not, he takes over.

I want the best pick possible but losing 13 in a row makes it hard to root for them to add to their losing streak. Winning tonight would make it easy to root against them in their final 2 outings.

Maybe make it 14, an even number.

That was a nice drive to the basket score by Bender.

I fully expect lakers to sit players in second half when seeing this score.

We need to at least tie for the 2 spot, this should be booker and warren last game this season

I'm not too surprised by this, they just played clippers and warriors tough at home, okc has clearly less talent then those teams.
