Standard notation - (-3) means the other side is (+3).

True and I understand that. But most people not in or around the vegas scene do not.

would it be better if I edited it to read (+3) on the first option? I just mimicked what LVG had in his Early Game thread....I really don't know squat about this stuff.

Either way is good. I just know some people get confused.

My confusion is, what is the difference between the first one & the 2nd one? I don't see how one could pay out but not the other...

What Shane is saying is that some people get confused if you don't note it this way:

Chicago Bears (+3)
@ SF 9ers (-3)

Meaning that people may think that the bet is such that there is a gap - specifically, if the 9ers win by 2, 1, or results in a tie, neither of the options would win.

Really, in Vegas, the (+3) is understood - you don't have to write it down. If there is no (-X) written, then it's a straight pick of who to win.

Make sense?

If you put the + points there is no confusion what so ever and no one can come back and dispute the bet.
I agree with Shane om this one, cover your bases.

yeah, I got it. I was originally looking at it if there was only a 3 point difference; at which point (like you said in your PM) they both pay out. I had to type it all out to see how it pays out otherwise.

/I don't visualize well; have to see it on paper...got it now; thanks!

How do you make vbookie threads? For the life of me I can not figure out how, I just know you need to be a contributor.

Make a post as you normally would but before you hit sumbit scroll down and you will see a checkbox to create a vBookie event, check it, hit sumbit then the vBookie screen will pop up. Pretty self explanatory after that.

Are the Bears still who we thought they were, or did we let that talk off the hook?
