Alabama ended up as an overwhelming, though not unanimous, No. 1 in The Associated Press college football poll after shutting out LSU in the BCS championship game. Five of the 60 members of the AP's media panel voted otherwise. Four had Oklahoma State (12-1) at No. 1, and Erik Gee of KNML-AM in Albuquerque, N.M., picked LSU -- just like he said he would before the game.
