He syas hes willing to donate and will provide proof.

However why should the guy be required in your mind to give any money from his proceeds to anyone? They are his items which he has every right to sell as a private owner and make a profit off of regardless of how much.

My Lame ass was bidding on a pair of Tillman game used shoes and a pair of Pittman game used shoes at the same time on Ebays NFL auction in 2001, both were getting high so I had to decide on only getting 1 pair and I ended up choosing the Pittman shoes, which actually went alot higher then the Tillman shoes. My Cardinal shrine would be way cooler having the Tillman Shoes as my center piece that still gets me mad!!!

I dont get why anyone would have heartburn against it?

Would any of you have heartburn if someone tried to make a hefty chunk of change off of a Mickey Mantle Jersey that was signed? They were both ex-athletes who are now forevor gone.

What makes people so sensitive to someone making money from items belonging to tillmans name?

no kidding. particularly given the fact that capitalism is part of the idealogy for which pat was willing to risk, and eventually forfeit, his life to protect.

more people on this site need to read ayn rand's atlas shrugged.

Why would I have a problem with this? He promises to donate a "large" portion of the procedes to charity and offers no proof.

I'd have a problem with someone auctioning of a Mantle Jersey with a promise of a hefty donation to charity while providing no proof of the claim. It's just the seller puffing to help sell the stuff at an outrageous price.

He deserves a kick in the balls.

He says clearly in his auction he is willing to provide proof if you purchase the item. Obviously you dotn plan on buying so why does he need to show you proof? Thats between him and the guy who decides he will buy it.

So you wouldnt mind at all if he said nothing about charity?

Some funky things have happened in the past 2 years "in the name of charity" is what Fiasco is probably saying. How many millions of donation dollars were swindled after Katrina (as an example). Some people use the donation thing to drive prices up with no intention to actually donate anything. Customers are moe willing to spend a higher amount if they believe it is going to charity.

Wow, that was a jump in logic. Nobody is kicking anybody's juevos. Just pointing out that it unfortunately is a concern. His proof of donation should be more than enough to account for his honesty. My post was only to point out that people have taken advantage of people's willingness to give, so it is feasable to look at a price and product differently if a claim of a donation is made.

He also says he is selling "because he has to move" when, in fact he is just a sports memorabilia power seller.

I doubt anything is going to charity.

Jimmy Buffet would not stand for this!!! If he blows up over a spilt salt shaker....think how nuts he'd go in this situation.

No doubt.

Jimmy needs to get with Sammy Haggar and learn how to chill out. Haggar would never do anything like that.

Jimmy gets all worked up over the fact that some woman took his Salt Shaker......but then he finds out it's his own damn fault.

Hate to see what he is capable of if he orders Huevos Rancheros over easy...and they come over medium......

Like you said, he'd be kicking guys eggs all over the place.

I think you have him confused with Queen, who would be "kickin' your can all over the place" (We will Rock You).

I now stand corrected in my correction.

I will now retire to kick my own nuts (or eggs, or can, or whatever)

And why do you quote me and start ranting about his being kicked? Still not sure where the agression is coming from, but perhaps you wanted to quote those who offered to do the kickin then.
