AZ Republic article mentions ARZ unlikely to pursue Tim Lincecum which means there may be at least some interest leaked from somewhere. Why else mention it?

Personally, I don't see why it would hurt anything. Low risk, possible high reward if he can regain his form.

I would give him a shot as well. There must be some serious issues with him because there are a lot of teams in need of starting pitching and he still has not been picked up. Seems strange to me

Working his way back from a hip injury iirc. He is a free agent and threw for a bunch of teams (D'backs included) this past weekend.

He throws 90-91 these days tops, not the same Timmy you remember, and he wants to be a starter, the Giants are obviously front runners.

That being said, he's my favorite non-DBack over the last decade, I'd love to give him a chance on the DBacks

I'd rather see him pitch against us. You know how Goldy owned him.

He fell off a cliff, and I don't see him returning to form. No way I'd give him anything more than a 1 year "show me" deal, and I doubt he'd want that situation in our ball-park (and I can't really blame him).

Driving home from Payson today they discussed this on the radio, and from what was reported, the Dbacks looked at him but feel they "would be better suited using their available resources in other ways." I thought that was an interesting quote if true.

Tim Lincecum's fastball sat at 89 mph in his first inning as an Angel.
