I got Sirius in 2004 (before HS announced he was coming over) and have been hooked on NFL Radio ever since. I especially enjoyed Tim Ryan and Pat Kirwin and was able to get through a few times on the phone to them. He calls a lot of Cards games for Fox. He is very insightful and knowledgable and hardly makes any mistakes.

When I was at Candlestick Sunday watching warmups behind the Cards' bench (only like three of us at the time) he walked by me and said "Hey guys enjoy the game." I knew it was T-Rock and yelled out Timmy and he smiled and went about his business. I thought it was very cool that he would say hi to the fans.

When I returned home I watched the game on Tivo and he was excellent as usual in his analysis. He is very fair and passionate about the game which is excellent. He has always been fair with the Cards' which is very unusual for any national sports guy and gives far better analysis than "ML in a hottub..." or any other generic crap that people read in magazines or from watching TMZ.

Anyways I just wanted to acknowledge his great work and it's nice to see at least someone on a national level giving the Cards some respect. Tim Ryan alone is better than all of those "experts" at ESPN put together (sans Mikey D., Tom Jackson, and Steve Young).

Im surprised anyone has a favorite guy .. Not everyone will like everyone.. From the MNF staff to the guys that do our games.. I have no idea what half of all the hate is anyways.. I rarely listen to anything they say other than what I wanna hear.. Like where the ball might be placed or what not.. I will say the only guy that irritated me was Neil Odonell.. And thats only because of his lisp, and not what he actually said..

Wait, is this a joke? The color guy from the team that could have been arrested for soliciting JT O'Sullivan for sex, as many times as they were going down on him in the telecast? Part of the team that in no way, shape, or form tried to look at questionable plays again on either side, and simply didn't comment on them? One of THOSE guys? Not for my money.

I'm with Stout, I have Ryan as maybe the least annoying of the rambling ex-lineman commentators, but still find him unbearable mostly.

Most insightful - Dick Vermeil.

Best overall crew is without doubt IMO Kenny Albert, Daryl Johnston, Tony Siragusa.

I thought the best crew was Vermiel, Jaworski and X?

It was a one shot deal, and the chemistry was awesome. Learned lots of stuff.

Jaworski on the monday night crew is not very good. He seems like he is trying so hard to be heard that

Like Tim Ryan, and I've always liked Hall of Fame Card and broadcaster: Dan Dierdorf

Every other day, about noon, I hook up my SIRIUS portable head phone set and head out the door en route to a 3 mile walk.

For quite awhile, I got to listen to Kirwan and Ryan, but about a half-year ago, they moved them out of the time slot til later in the day.

There have been 2 or 3 other pairs of different guys at noon on SIRIUS (including Bob Papa, Adam Schein, Gil Brandt and Jim Miller)but none have been anywhere as good as Pat and T-Rex.

It's a great way to kill an hour - walking and listening. My only problem is that - at 9 am AZ time, you don't get many people from AZ calling in about the Cardinals- it's always the same old cast of characters (including lots of Team Felon fans and truckers like Bam Bam from KC country).

Ryan is a Bay Area guy from San Jose so it wouldn't surprise me at all if he actually grew up a 49er fan.

I didn't think he was all that biased Sunday I think it was a situation where the 49ers had the ball so little in the 2nd half they were just trying to keep 49er fans interested in the game by talking them up.

Happens in one sided games.

When you have Kornheisier Rambling on most of the game, the Polish Rifle has to. I like Jaworski, he teaches what players are suppose to be doing. That is great in my book.

I don't know if he's the best color guy out there, I really like the job Daryle Johnston does on Fox's second crew. But I thought Ryan had some good insights on Sunday.

For example, it was obvious that the Niners defense was playing their safeties deep out of respect for the Cardinals passing attack. But Tim actually showed a shot with the safeties like 20 yards back when the Cardinals had the fullback in the game and commented that most teams will bring an eighth guy into the box with a FB in. IMO, that is part of the reason the Cardinals didn't throw long on Sunday. The Niners were gambling on stopping the run with seven-in-the-box and committed to stopping or slowing down the intermediate and long passing game.

The guy I really like is Ron Jaworski. He watches so much tape, and is such an expert on the quarterback position IMO. It is frustrating that he isn't used more on MNF, instead of having to listening to Tony Kornheiser's inane prattling on.

Agree 100%. Great chemistry with each other and they know football.
