Which is odd because Hightower has been pretty bad in pass pro this year. More then once he is just completely getting destroyed or completely missing his assignment. I think Somers in an article recently talked about how the coaches are starting to see the two getting closer in that department.

Hmmm. I must have missed that article. I was on Vacation for the first 2 weeks of October. Do you know when that article came out?

So are you saying that Wells is getting better at picking up the Blitz? Or, Hightower is becoming more like Wells?

You make a lot of great points here Cardiac-----Whiz did change the culture. (Haley hiring Pendergast was more a friend helping a friend out for a year, when Haley had no players anyway). He took what he did in that draft, hired some coaches and co-ordinators, and made a culture change there just like Whiz did here.

If Whiz a crappy coordinator just to help out a friend you would be at the head of the lynch mob. The GM for the Chiefs made those hires. He is originally from NE and the DC and OC were there as well.

I like Haley a lot so don't get me wrong. Thing is he took a bunch of junk from the press and some fans and players because he was percieved as power hungry & obnoxious & putting players in the dog house and well a lot of the things you say about Whiz.

Yes-----Levi has corrected his penchant for false starting. DRC, on the other hand is still wandering around in a daze, enjoying the crowd etc. for too many plays. He got away with that when we had McFadden and Hood playing opposite him because they hardly ever threw to him. Problem was it gave him a big head, and now he thinks he is better than he actually is. Toler has covered and tackled well enough for teams to go back against DRC, and he is not always ready, and certainly hasn't improved his game except for the occasional tackle now and then. Somebody needs to be jacking this kid upside the head to get his mind right. I thought Donnie Henderson would do that, but no results yet to be noticed.

So do you sit DRC? Take him out to the woodshed and beat him silly? You don't think Whiz and Henderson have coached DRC about his issues?

Also, Timmy is still fumbling waaaay too much-----yet Beanie was the one in the dog house for that purpose-----go figure. Timmy was given much more trust from Whiz this many games into his first year, than Beanie has been given this many games into his second year. Yet Timmy ALWAYS has had more fumbles than Beanie. Hard to figure that one.

Whiz basically benched THT after the fumble. Is that not enough for you? Does Whiz need to take out an advertisment calling THT a slacking fumble wussy boy? I believe the players understand that Whiz doesn't have a one strike and your out philosophy and I can't imagine any of them disagree with that. Depending on the issue and the players response and improvement dictates when a player gets put into the "doghouse".

Lutui got FAT and found himself on the 2nd unit. He got his weight under control and is starting again. RT who is the biggest baby ever born in his state got fat and is now on the practice squad. Those are basic expectations that the coaches have and it takes no skill to step away from the dinner table. Trying to hold onto a ball while running with big nasty people trying to punish you and strip the ball is much harder then not getting fat. So each transgression is treated accordingly.

I get just as frustrated as most with DRC and THT's fumbles and the stupid pentalties, I just know that it all can't be fixed over night. I also have seen some areas improve. The roster turnover this year has both units sorta starting from scratch in some of these areas of concern.

I understand why Whiz has lost his luster with some fans, at least for me it is how the QB position blew up in our faces this year. I just don't look at one incident and discount every thing else on Whiz's resume.
