19-36 for 332 yards.. and youre complaining?

Let's keep in mind Goff threw for 308 with 1 TD and 0 interceptions against the Colts last week. Can't say Palmer's number is special against what may prove to be the worst secondary in the league. He's lucky he wasn't hurt worse. That down & out route in his own red zone was almost a pick 6. Another time he threw late over the middle. It was popped up in the air but no one could grab it. He never used progressions even when he had time. He was adequate at best. It's true his O-line is no bargain, but his decision making is a bigger concern.

If the Cardinals keep playing a "rope a dope" offense where they let the defense wear themselves out hitting Palmer, he'll be gone sooner rather than later.

Bad decision making and being out of sync with his receivers has become the norm for Palmer.

If the Cardinals make a move at quarterback it should be to the more mobile Gabbert.

Palmer has always been inconsistent. He's always been the one player that could just easily have a huge game as he could a terrible one on any given week. He could go out and throw for 4 TDs one week and 4 picks the next without any rhyme or reason.

He could hit a great pass and then follow it up with throwing it right into the hands of the other team and neither would surprise you because both were Palmer-like outcomes.

That has been his problem and why he went from being the expected franchise qb in Cinci to virtually a journeyman had we not kept him around because we had no desire to look for our young franchise qb. We thought we were just an avg qb away from a SB win and as it turns out unless you're really lucky you need an elite or and at least well above avg qb for that (top 10).

Palmer has usually performed poorly in big games (hyped regular season games and post season). He is prone to the yips.

That's always been his problem is the inconsistency and now that he is clearly finishing physically we are going to see more bad than good.

If you don't think his arm is going on him you must be listening to games on radio because it is clear as day even from the start of last season. He probably had as many one hop passes in the dirt his first 3 years as he has this season alone.

Do we have a better option? Probably not and that is the frustrating part is the failure to plan for this day when it was staring BASK in the face for at least 3 years now.

Unless his play drops even further he will be the best option, but that doesn't mean it's a good option. If the season gets away from us, which barring some significant improvement it will, I would be disappointed if they didn't take the opportunity to gets reps to other QBs to see if they can at a minimum find a solid game manager until a franchise qb is available.

Don't get me wrong we couldn't have made the run we did for those 3 years with a DS type of QB, but I think we could have with a middle of the road QB because this what CP is. Our defense won us a lot of those games with TO and scoring. Our D was one of the best in the league and our D has taken a step back along with our O which is why there has been such a dramatic change in just the last 2 years. I'm afraid that this year CP might be more like a bottom 5, at least bottom 10 QB if he regresses further.

If you disagree with the middle of the road assessment then please name 16 other qbs that you would keep over Palmer. Not 5, not 10... 16.

It's real simple he is miles better than any other option we have. If the season gets away from us you have to play Gabbert, as we already know what we have in Stanton. Could Gabbert be a good QB for us possibly he has the tools just hasn't ever had consistent coaching or system. His upside looks way better than Stanton either way. But at the moment we are 1-1 and Palmer gives us our only chance to win at QB. It honestly looks like he is still trying to get timing with his receivers which again is BAs fault for not playing these guys in preseason and work this garbage out. I feel it's kind of like going to play golf with no warm up, you **** up the first few holes trying to get warmed up and dig yourself a hole. The gameplan honestly seemed to suck as well, your going against a suspect secondary so what's our plan...to run KW lol it's mind boggling! Go into hurry up and get a rhythm going early instead of 3 and outs.

Go to NFL.com, and look at the stats of all the other QB's. CP might not be the best, but he's in the top half, stat wise.

I already count that as a loss and Ive said 2-2 to start. Progression-momentum will come

Biggest mistake was to pass on Mahomes. Could have easily traded into the back of the top 10 and be set for the future. Instead we are in the QB purgatory right now!

We didn't pass on Mahomes. Keim tried to trade up, assuming it was for Mahomes. He and Michael Bidwill were all over Mahomes in the draft process. They met with him as an organization, took him out to dinner, etc. The Chiefs were able to seal the deal to move up. They gave up a lot to do that. Sometimes, even if you offer more than other teams, the team that does the trading chooses another offer. At least the Cardinals were making efforts. They deserve credit for that.
