Warner #1. St. Pierre #2. Palko #3.

Leinart to the Jets for their first rounder...for which the Cardinals draft the best DE or RB available.

I take back my Warner rant. At least he said that if he does return it will be with the Cardinals. That's the ticket!
Do you think maybe we could get proven talent for Leinart?

Proven talent trades only happen in NBA or NHL. It's all about those draft picks and prospects!

The last proven talent trade in the NFL that I can remember was the Clinton Portis/Champ Bailey deal.

Brian St. Pierre should be the starting QB, right Mitch?

Mitch, I respect everything you ever write on this board. You have to be kidding about St. Pierre!!! What makes you think this other than he has been with Wiz for a period of time now. He was so-so even in college. I just don't see it, even when I was in camp this year. His accuracy seems to be all over the place. Explain.

I'm interested to see their strategy for this season but I certainly won't be getting upset here.

Those days are over, these guys got a team to the SuperBowl folks, that's not chopped liver, Whis will have input, no one is going to rip apart a team in Whis's face, if he really wants something he'll probably get it, what I'm curious about is what he really thinks is important.

I bet it'd surprise some people as to who he's really worried about getting back.
My guess is he's really rooting for Warner to come back and after that I don't think he's as worried about anyone.

I wonder if he really and truly wants Pendy back? If he had his druthers would he druther have Clancy Pendergas (sp) back as his DC or would he rather have someone else?
Also if we lose Haley does that mean that he stays w/ Clancy just to minimize the turnover on the coaching staff? Even more important does he have full veto power on Clancy or does he just yield to the Bidwill's because they like Clancy so much?

#3 and #5. Funny Mitch pulls out the vikings and patriots games where the entire team took a vacation and uses that to demean Dansby.

Dansby and Smith are part of a front 7 that held Pittsburgh to 2.2 yards per carry in the Super Bowl. A front 7 that held opponents under 100 yards rushing 13 times including 5 straight to end the season.

Taking out the vacation games their average including playoffs was 85ypg. That would have ranked them 4th in the NFL in rushing defense even though that adjusted number still includes games against the #1,#2, #3, #8,#9 and #11 rushing offenses.

But yeah they're bums we don't need them.

The QB talk in this thread is what is unreal. Criticizing Kurt for wanting to take time to determine his future is a bit much. I certainly prefer him reflecting on things for a bit rather than going and pulling a Farve.

And put me in the "No to St. Pierre as the number two guy" camp.

Kurt doesnt bother me. I think the guy has earned a couple weeks to figure out what he wants to do.

Boldin? man - such an unreasonable position. I dont blame him for wanting more money, but this "man of my principles" thing is a joke.

Dansby? really good player who wants to get paid. Probably (definately) has an inflated opinion of his value -- but all it takes is one whacky team like the Jets last year.

Antonio Smith? I think he knows given the Cardinals priorities that he has to go elsewhere to get the biggest contract. As a guy who was a former 5th rounder, I cant blame him for wanting to take advantage of what is likely his only big contract of his career.

Vegas, baby, yeah!
Good post Mitch - I always enjoy reading them, even if I disagree with them

1. KW has earned the right to think for a bit. For me - he has to make up his mind the day before FA starts. It's that simple. Until that day, KW has to think if he wants to come back or not.

I don't think he will.

2. I always felt that neither side was innocent in regards to the Q situation - I feel that the Cards did offer him more money, and Q was probably given the impression than it was more than the Cards actually offered, and now Q feels that he's been lied to and can't trust the FO. The FO probably feels that Q is being a cry baby and unrealistic.

If that's the case, Q is gone. Either this offseason, next, or when his contract is out. But he's gone. I think we can get the best value for him right now, so off he goes.

However, all things being equal - if the rift between Q and the FO could be repaired, and the price is right, I would much rather prefer Q in Cards red than in any other color.

3. Meh on Dansby. All I have to say.

4. Edge took a chance on us - and it almost paid off in the end. The guy wants to play, and I can't hold that against him. He did well for us in the playoffs - and I hope he does well in the remainder of his career and gets into Canton.

5. Meh on Antonio. Hope he likes NC.

As for Brian St. Pierre vs. Leinart - I don't know about that Mitch - I just haven't seen BSP play enough to form any opinion of him.

i'm not sold on our scouting dept, graves. they passed up on peterson as i mentioned earlier and last year passed up all the great rb's taken.. will it be the same this year? it is a much smaller class of rbs this year, unless we get ward from the giants. hightower alone isn't enough..

On the other hand our last draft with Whisenhunt and staff having sufficient time to prepare rather than just coming on board like in 2007 was one of the best in our time in Arizona. (So far anyway)

I think I would rather have DRC than the RBs drafted after him.
