Since we totally ignored our OL in the draft, its time to go and re-sign RT Eric Winston. It is definite need. Keim said resigning him would depend on what we do in the draft.

There will be some veteran players to hit the street after teams shuffle their rosters after this draft. Cards will be able to bring in players to complete the roster. Winston was a good pickup last year (as was JA) right before the start of training camp, The right side of our OL is still a question mark (at least for me as a fan, maybe not for our coaching staff. LOL)

I can't seem to figure out how a guy that is going to bail us out on the RT position can just sit out there so long on the FA market .
Winston was a member of a Cardinal O-Line that graded out #32 of 32 NFL O-Line's . I'm P-O-d that BASK just ignored the right side of the O-Line .

For a cheap contract, it's a no brainer. Have the rest of the guys fight for the RG spot, and put the 5 best out there. That would have the makings of a decent offensive line.

Come'on Cards, don't let some other team scoop Winston out from under your noses. Sign him NOW!

Couple things I am surprised about:

1. That Eric Winston is even in play. I thought I read a blurb before the draft that the Cardinals were not going to re-sign him. I would like them too, btw, just saying what I heard.

2. Bobby Massie is still on the roster. I really thought he would be traded in this draft.

Doesn't matter, MY BOY, Bradley Sowell has the RT position locked up! :D

As long as he isn't starting. If he starts then massie is a wasted pick. That would be a cause for concern considering that we didn't draft a lineman.

Winston did himself no favors by taking the NFLPA gig. That's one of the reasons he's still available.

With no offensive linemen drafted, it is most definitely time to re-sign Eric Winston to a one-year deal. At the very least, he provides genuine competition for Bobby Massey.

Please do this ASAP.

I gotta think this was the plan. They weren't going to reach on OT because they had a guy they could count on in Winston.

I'd like to sign him, preferably for at least two years. I'd like to keep the line intact with the same set of starters for a little while.

Whoever our RT is got a lot of help when we drafted the beastly #87 Troy Niklas. On many plays, the RT becomes an interior lineman with Mr. Niklas on his outside shoulder. Not saying it's not important to get a RT, but just less so. Also, while I'm not going to say that Bradley Sowell is the answer, I will say this, they were 8-4 with him as the starting LT. Also, while I am not overly excited about what the staff has to say about the lightbulb going on for Massie, I do think they like his ability. I don't know how good Winston really is at this point.

BASK went into this draft not having Winston signed , and did not draft an OL . It looks like a strong hint that Winston is not in their plans .

How do you mean? I (and most others including it sounds like winston himself) take it as "hey we dont like you enough to lock you up before we see how the draft falls, but if you are still available and we dont get one, you are our guy."

"Oh BTW we are not worried about other teams signing you in the mean time. Like at all."

I think just the opposite. They knew Winston was an option after the draft IF they didn't draft one. They didn't draft one, so he's an option. They'll need four tackles IMO, Jared Veldheer, Bradley Sowell, Bobby Massey and Eric Winston.
