The Suns are in a position where they can do some great things. The Spurs have built a "dynasty". How? They tanked. But this wasn't just any tank, they were a good team with an injured superstar who sucked one season, then the next season rolls around and voila they are a contender.

The Suns had their chance to do this in 2005-06 and screwed it up. They will undoubtedly suck ass in 2010, but they have no pick. SO the time is now! they must tank next season! Then reload with Amare and a rookie and build a dynasty!!!!

Start this year, dump Nash, Barbosa, Diaw and Bell to move up in the draft. I've seen enough. Other than Nash, not a lot of value for another team. Crap we might be stuck for years to come.

you want to know what the suns will be for the next 5 years or so......look no further than the Minny Wolves.

they didnt trade away their draft picks, but they did lose a handful with their Joe Smith debacle. they were decent until the lack of picks kicked them in the butt, and they were stuck in mediocrity for a few years. their star wanted out soon after.

i seriously cannot believe that our management was so shortsighted to allow us to give up picks when we will NEED them. 2010 we'll be a lotto team, and we'll have nothing to show for it.

Of the names you mentioned only Barbosa has any real value and even that's not much. Bell and Nash could be moved to the right teams looking for that last piece but even then I can't think of many teams that would pick em up.

The Suns still have that 20 million a year hit for Shaq for the next 2 years, that's really going to limit them. I wonder if there is anyone in the league dumb enough to take Shaq in trade?

If the Suns could somehow unload Oneal, they would be in a lot better position. At this point though, it's probably next to impossible. As sad as it is, the Suns would be in a lot better position had they kept Marion.

They should have traded Marion for young talent/picks/expiring contracts. But Kerr and Dantoni wanted to win now, gambling on a win in the toughest West in memory, and Boston/Detroit waiting after that is done. Instead we are looking at a first round sweep and all our money tied up in Shaq/Amare/Nash/Diaw/Barbs. None of those have trade value except Amare, who we MUST hold on to despite his deficiencies. The next few years are not going to be pleasant unless we get really lucky somehow.

Sarver sold out the future for one shot at a title. And look what's on display...........
You guys should be infuriated because after next year, that title window will officially be closed.

STAT............thats all you'll have plus one 38 yr old aging, broken down center eating up one last chunk of $20 million in payroll. Im starting to feel bad for Grant who spurned the Lakers for a spot on the Suns.

Why would you feel bad for Grant? He went to a team that doesn't give a **** about D so he would only have to play half a game. Can you really blame a 48 year old with 2 broken ankles for wanting only take jump shots?

Grants a model NBA citizen, great character. He deserves better than a first round brooming. You can tell he's hurting physically but choosing to give it his all anyways.

He is 38 years old and has played 100 games in his career and been injured the rest. Sure he's a modle NBA citizen because he has had nothing better to do with his time.

Who was that forward on Miami when they won the championship and now plays for Boston? He'd bring in some needed toughness.

Does anyone know anything about Tucker, what he did this year? What kind of numbers did he put up?

do you mean Posey? I love that dude... one of the reasons why Miami sucked this year was because they got all stingy and let go of a lot of important players like Posey.
