I think your credibility to professional athletes goes quickly when you throw them under the bus to take blame from your two grossly unqualified coordinators. Arians support of Bettcher and Amos will undermine his credibility with the players.

Keim always talks about building better depth on the team, yet he signs players to one year contracts to do it. Then they either retire or go off somewhere else to play and you are right back where you started from a year later. The only reason guys like Chris Johnson resigned is because he knew another team wouldn't touch him. Same for Gresham, at least not for the money they offered him in AZ. I honestly don't even want Fitz back unless it's at half of his salary. He doesn't instill fear in the defense like he used to. He doesn't garner attention like he used to. He's no longer a difference maker. Keim and Arians seem to judge a player on what they did in the pass, not what they are capable of in the future.

I have said the same thing about these damn one year prove it deals which only prove things to other teams because we seldom ever act on a player doing well after that year and I think players know that coming in already. I will completely disagree with you though on the whole Fitzgerald thing that he is no longer a difference maker, he went off against Dallas and it's not his fault the rest of the team did not follow suit and it was him which scored the winning touchdown in the overtime game... dude is not the main threat but still a huge difference maker :)

2-3... the sky hasnt fallen.
1 game behind a majority of league.

You probably didn't watch last Sunday's game. It's one thing to look at the record and say the sky isn't falling and another to actually watch this team. This team is a mess and it isn't getting better. We're too old, injured, and getting outcoached.

We won't fire BA. However, I think he will retire at the end of the season. IMO there will then be a house cleaning of his entire staff. I just hope that Bidwill and Keim don't replace him with Goodwin. Seeing the job he has done with the OL, that would be a disaster.

If the Cardinals go veteran QB next season, Arians gets one more year...If they Draft 1st or 2nd Round QBOF, he gets two more years...unless "HE" decides to call it quits and retire.

No player gets 30 touches a game in this day and age. They might have an occasional game that reaches that mark, but average it? Naw. That was classic BA hyperbole.
Still, he was the focal point of the offense and among the favorites for offensive player of the year.

If Fitz had produced more in the other games I might well agree but going off in one out of five to me is he's just not the guy anymore.

Coaching staff is really failing in many areas. Time for a change. I'm all in for a new coaching staff.

Now can SK find another good coach out there?

SK can't even hit a homerun when 10 million people are doing the scouting for players in the early rounds....
How the hell is he gonna find a Head Coach?

How do you guys feel about Matt Patricia as a possible replacement for BA? He could run the defense and bring in his own offensive coordinator. He is also familiar with Chandler Jones.

That's a great idea....bring him in on the cheap... right when his philosophy has been totally exposed and exploited!!!

I'm among the biggest fans of a run-first mentality to wear a defense down. Would love to pound it all game long with a few play action shots sprinkled it. That said, the way our OL plays right now, the pass-first approach is the only right choice. Don't always like the pass plays BA calls, but what I know for sure that too much running leads to too many 2nd or 3rd and long situations. Odds are much better to hit a quick pass with Palmer than to rush for positive gain. Obviously this has to change, and maybe Humphries, Boone and some reshuffling will raise our OL from rock bottom, which would already help a ton. Still this team will have to establish a solid quick rhythm passing game, which is not really BA's style, to have some success with the rush and the deep shots.

Agreed. But he couldn't have been 40% of the offense. That's ridiculous.

The Cards average 69 plays a game this year. That's 27-28 touches a game. That's a touch high but not is not out of the realm at all. Especially considering he had 365 touches over the last 15 games last season, or just over 24 a game.

I do think that workload is too much for a RB though. Would like to see him at about 20-21/game for long term health reasons.

dream scenario (after season is over)

Mike Bidwill (at his desk): Come in Keim-O, come in.

Keim: Hey there Mike.

Mike B: So, what's the plan on coaching for this year ?

Keim: Plan ? Mike, we have great coaches, yes, there were a few bumps in the road, but I'm sure we are well on the way to righting this ship and building the championship team I, BA and his staff know is coming our way this year.

Mike B (handing Keim a sheet of paper): Steve, this is your resignation letter, please sign it and exit through the back way, our new GM is due here any minute. Oh, and tell BA on your way past that him and his geritol posse is through, also. They can take home an official Cardinal hat as a memento of their fine service. Now get out of here Keim-O, I have work to do.

:biglaugh: BA is the best coach we've had since they've moved to Az & Keim is the best GM we've had. They are probably in the top 10 in the league at their respective positions but you still want to get rid of them for unknown quantities.

With a healthy DJ, the play count would probably be higher than 69.

Exactly. No apologies, that is exactly what I want.

Five draft classes have yielded three starters from the ten picks in the first two rounds.

The team is eerily in the same position which is was when BASK took over. The entire offensive line needs to be replaced. Need rotational depth on the D-line. Need a cornerback opposite Peterson and a quarterback.

I wonder what the record is for the top 4 teams in the NFL last year are. If we are comparable with other teams in the league or not.
