All this talk about picking player A or hating player A had me wondering about all the times we were wrong...
List all the players you were hyped about coming out of college who never panned out

My list:
#1 was Leinart - I actually jumped up when the Cardinals got him and said, "Finally the Cardinals have a QB!"....yea I was way off

#2 Wadsworth - thought we had the second coming of Reggie White ...nope injuries derailed him

#3 Thomas Jones - well he had a great career ....but not with the Cards

#4 Chance Warmack - man I beat the drum wanting this guy....yea glad he wasn't the pick...only good thing about getting Cooper was he eventually was traded to get Chandler Jones.

now it your turn...think about players the Cards got and players you wanted and other teams got em' and it didn't pan out...

Leeland McElroy I loved that pick, JJ Arington, Levar Fisher, I thought would hit for sure! I liked Wendall Bryant at the time too.

I was team Leftwhich over Suggs, that was pretty bad lol

My wrongs are easy.

Dansby - didn't understand why we kept drafting the same position every year.

Leinart - was happy to get a young QB to the point I ignored the 10 cent head

Beanie Wells - liked the smash mouth play but ignored injury risk

Nkemdiche - loved the athleticism to the point I ignored the 10 cent head

1. I will always believe coaching ruined Leinart
2. Cards should have caught this in medical exam. He had great potential otherwise.
3. Right guy, wrong offense
4. Picking him or Cooper. Actually the choice wasn’t that bad. Cooper’s injury was unpredictable moreover his ability to bounce back. I don’t know any way to predict that. You had quite a bit of company on Warmack. Several evaluators had him as the safest pick in the draft.

There are a few every year. Just shows what a crapshoot is all is.
Wanted guys like D'Brickashaw Ferguson, AJ Hawk, Vernon Gholston, liked the Levi Brown pick,
also I remember Rey Malaluga being a wish, Sergio Kindle, Brooks Reed, DaQuan Bowers, Martez Wilson.
Reilly Reiff, David DeCastro or Melvin Ingram instead of Michael Floyd.
Loved the Jonathan Cooper pick.
Got some right, some wrong. Keim really needs to hit this year or I'm afraid he's got to go.

I usually always feel good about the draft right afterward, but time is the best judge.
Keim has a shockingly low number of draftees that see their second contract with the team. (I actually don't know if it's shockingly low,
compared to other teams, but the number is about two, for all his draft picks).

I do remember being hyped about Wadsworth.
But I was also most hyped about:
Urlacher (I might be biased being from Abq but he should have been the pick over Jones)
AP (picking an OL over a once in a generational type player was dumb)
Suggs (to me was a sure thing)
Fitz (Seemed like a sure thing. I was happy to pick him over the remaining QB's)
Patrick Peterson (also liked Von Miller but he went right before)

My list is very long, and embarrassing.

1. Matt Leinart - AND I fought to start him over Kurt Warner later on.

2. Levi Brown - The team needed a tackle WAY more than any stupid oft-injured running back......right ?

3. Beanie Wells - This guy was the missing piece, I was sure of it....LOL

4. Chance Warmack - was a no brainer, can't miss!

5. Alan Branch - I was so excited we got him. I thought he was the next Ted Washington, and was going to be the best NT ever.

I am 100% sure if I really got into this, I could come up with ten more. I could put Deone Bucannon on the list, but I thought he was going to play safety.

1.Leinart Qb-agree with Harry
2.Alex Stepanovich-OLINE-i thought he would be a anchor on the line for 10 years.
3.Troy Niklas TE- everybody`s favorite whipping boy... I hoped he would settle into the TE spot and be a force blocking and receiving for years

Simply post just about every single first round pick by Keim.

Leinart was a bust because of Leinart no outside influence other than his 10 cent head(thanks Chris) no more no less.

I remember being thrilled that Beanie Wells fell to the Cards. Bragged to my family (who are Chiefs fans) that he ran like Larry Johnson. Oops

Leinart was a bust because he was lazy and partied. There are stories of not preparing at all for ganes and not looking at game tape, he didn't want it, his natural ability only took him so far

This times 100

Leinart was toast when he pissed Whiz (wait, is that redundant?) off at the Super Bowl just after the coach was hired.

It’s things like this, personality conflicts and such that we fans are unaware of that can influence so many decisions. For all we know Rosen stole KK’s bike as a kid and he was in double secret probation the moment the coaching change was announced.

Oh **** - did I just hijack the thread? Apologies all around if so :slap:

The same, but I liked the Dansby pick and glad we took him
