If it is White I am sure the Cardinals are doing their research and asking Leinart & Lutui if he was a good teammate.

I don't particularly think its enough but if they throw in a 3rd rounder next year or something like that I could probably live with it.

The fact that the Titans have received permission to talk to Drew Rosenhaus means this offer is doable from the Cardinals' part.

I like the deal. We want a power running game and this will move that forward in a big way, not only for getting one of the best power RBs in the NFL, but for getting an extra 2nd in which to draft an OL mauler.

I woud forsee in the first three picks 2 pass rushers and a tough offensive lineman.

i think it is a fair deal no doubt....if lendale is the player. but who knows what is true and what isn't at this point.

Exactly. So many rumors and speculation being thrown around right now it isn't even funny.

One thing we know is if nothing is done with Boldin by the end of round 2 tomorrow night chances are nothing gets done this offseason.

I hate the deal

if we were happy with backs who average less than 4 yards a carry, the Cards should just keep Edge.

Pretty much.

seriously -- go look at the game by game stats he had

if it werent for putting up big numbers against Green Bay and Detroit -- he might have averaged less than 3 yards per carry for the season

I just dont understand why the Cardinals would want a sketchy character/motivation guy who has shown little more than being a short yardage back.

They arent crazy about Edge's lack of second level burst and go get a younger version of the same, just without the professionalism

The way Rosenhaus works...this deal will be done in the next couple of hours. It will be a good deal for Boldin with added incentive clauses.

Boldin goes to a team that has a legitmate shot at a ring. He's got a veteran QB in Kerry Collins, who will look his way the way KW did and he becomes THE MAN there. It's close to FL. He will be delighted.

For the Cardinals this is a good resolution. They take a very positive step forward in building the power running game that Whiz and Grimm want...and it gives them that added 2nd rounder to add BPA...which actually may be the TE Whiz wants in this draft, who will work the middle that Boldin exploited for so long.

Warner may be initially disappointed, but the way Warner has made Jerheme Urban look good, I actauuly think this will take pressure off him in that he won't have to worry about keeping Q happy and he can simply do what he does best: hit the open receiver.

And after Warner sees what the power running game will do for this offense, he will be very thankful.

Power RBs ypc averages need to be taken in context...often they are asked to get the key one yard gain to move the chains. White has 1100 yards in 2007 before Johnson got there.

White play with a chip on his shoulder...but it's what you want because he wants the football. That's what made Edge great in his prime.

I have very little interest in Lendale. I certainly wouldn't trade a first for Lendale and a second. (which is what we would be if you assume Boldin is worth a 1st)--and I do.

I'm for trading Q, but this deal isn't one that really excites me. Even if some reports are true that White has dropped 20 or so pounds this offseason and is in great shape, I just don't know.

White has been playing in an all dink and dunk passing game, with the ball going to him or Johnson most of the time, and no real downfield threats. Think about what Bettis did under whisenhunt, and how much BETTER our passing game is even without Boldin, and then consider what he could do with the kind of power offense we run. His stats will only improve under whisenhunt, and so will everyone else's due to the added arsenal.

White and Hightower is redundant. 2 goal line backs who aren't that fast

It's hard to put what seems to be the combination of facts, rumors and speculation into some sort of context and sequence, but here's one plausible explanation:

1. Tennessee makes a formal offer of a second round pick plus an unnamed player. In doing so (and in order to avoid tampering) they ask the Cards if it's OK if Drew Rosenhaus can - as Boldin's agent - speak directly with the Titans. After all, at some point he will need to explore the feasibility of signing Q to a humongous contract.

2. The Cards say "Sure, talk away"

3. But they don't accept the deal. (It's unclear whether they killed the deal before or after they gave Rosenhaus permission to contact Tenn.)

4. Tennessee then goes public with (a) the details of the offer and (b) the permission given to Rosenhaus.

5. ESPN then interprets this to mean that the Cards were ready to consider the deal (which represented a reduction in what media speculation- but not Graves - said was "their original asking price of a 1st round & 2nd round pick) and it must be a go since Rosenhaus was about to talk to the Titans.

6. It's unclear whether or not these were the "reduced terms" Sal Pal orginally was referring to or whether the Tennessee offer came later and was reported in a subsequent ESPNews report.

The tea leaves suggest that, whether the original or subsequent offer, the Cards don't appear to be jumping up and down about it and my gut says the possibility that Boldin will be moved tomorrow is somewhere around 25%.

We don't know which player was offered and we do not know if Rosenhaus was given the okay to talk money. I doubt this ever got that far.

Jurecki talked to Boldin directly via text message, and Boldin said that he knew nothing about Drew talking to the Titans.

Chalk it up to yet another Sal from ESPN falling flat on his face moment.

they came on briefly and quickly and said the Cardinals never got an offer after confering with the Cardinals...ESPN, poor poor confirmation checking up on it in a rush to get a scoop...heck, I can do their job LOL. ESPN looked really stupid in that brief moment of 'we were wrong'. I won't belief anything till the Cardinals themselves where to confirm something...Boldin is not going anywhere at this rate and I do not think the Cards want to part with him anyways
