No thread on this? Man what a great show. Might be my favorite show right now. Watching these pathetic guys try to lie their way out of being there just makes me laugh with some of the things they say. This show is great on so many levels. Chris Hansen is the man.

And in most states the basic chats are what has them in violation of the law, not necessarily showing up... I think it is similar to those lottery winning notices where they get people to come and claim lottery winnings that have outstanding warrants.

Most of what they claim in the follow ups is that they (the idiot guys) are charged with the portion of the communication involving that chat and communications via the computer and not necessarily the actual physical portion where they show up at the house.

I agree. These sick bastards need to be castrated, locked up, whatever. But we as a society need is to stop putting this crap on TV. Youre not watching because you believe in the fight. Youre watching to see someone (regardless of how or why) bottom out in the extreme. Any viewer is simply watching to remind themselves that they are better than the people on the show. Its terrible. I wish all this crap would go away.

I actually agree with you on this one. My wife Tivos every one, and I try to go out of my way to not see them. The offenders need to be castrated, but I don't want to watch this crap.

i think there is always the submersive entertainment aspect of watching someone take a fall

other than that, i think it goes to show the type of people who are out there and are on the internet

it can prompt parents into an alarmed awareness to pay more attention to what their kids are doing online - show kids that it all isn't fun and games and expose the sickos to their community

I don't mind the regular dateline shows, but after the 2nd time or so or To Catch a Predator, it just isn't entertaining, its sick.

I that were it, fine. But I dont think that ANYONE. LITERALLY ANYONE watches it from a protect your kids standpoint. Its not educational, its trash put on the screen for society to gawk at, nothing more.

The show just creeps me out on several levels. The fact that NBC is blatantly making money off of pedophiles is concerning. Maybe it wouldn't seem so bad if they just busted the losers and got on with it, but they go out of their way to grill them in front of the camera, and read their emails and such. It just feels wrong.

Not true... I don't care if their ratings are crap, they need to have this stuff going on to get these people off the street, out of their houses and behind bars. If you watch it you would know that there are a large majority of them that even say they were afraid it might be Dateline. So for whatever it is worth it is making an impact.

on another episode the law enforcement agency that was doing the arrests stated that they did not have the funding to conduct such thorough investigations and if Perverted Justice did not do it, it would not get done in their area.

i honestly didn't know it was a full show - i thought we were talking about the dateline specials

sure it's something to gawk at - no worse than cops or anyting else

i don't care what people get out of it - anytime you expose these people it's a good thing

also, many people don't fully understand computers and the realities of the online world - a lot of people didn't grow up with or really understand how to operate computers

That was why I said I don't care about how much money they make, and I really don't... I also know that they are doing it for money or they would not be doing it at all (Dateline that is - Perverted Justice does it with or with out the show).

Bum rush them with a hundred cops with guns, what does that matter? There pretty much is no excuse for them, they are cold busted... I have not seen one of them shot or really roughed up... They almost all have admitted guilt on television...

And who are you to tell me what I am watching it for? I think EVERYONE that watches it believe that grown men should not be giving sexual fantasies on the internet or in person to a 12 year old. This show exposes these people, puts their face out there and also prevents other petifiles to go on the internet looking for young kids. You can not tell me that because of this show that some petifiles have had a second thought about soliciting a young child and/or stopped doing it. This show brings to the surface of what alot of people dont know. And just like everything else.... If you dont like it, Dont watch it.
