Not going to happen.

From Jurecki's facebook:

BA; injuries day to day... Josh Mauro could be out another game.

BA; will treat the Seattle like its game one, not interested in resting players.

BA; Players approached him about wanting to play this week vs. Seattle.

All sounds wonderful but David Johnson looked a little banged up to me and Palmer can't be risked in what will be a meaningless game. Don't trust the Hags or that douche of a coach they have.

Repetition and structure are a huge part of professional athletes' lives. So are team and individual goals. Sitting out players tinkers with the established routine (that coaches try to secure beginning with OTAs), and possibly ruin potential personal goals. These are guys that are the best in their sport, in large part, due to being incredibly competitive. Naive to think Palmer isn't looking at the Franchise Passing Yardage record, Smokey wanting 1k yards, etc. Nobody is saying individual achievements trump team goals, but after winning 13 games... these guy have earned the opportunity to grab some personal rewards.

You worry about injuries during the week, and adjust the training accordingly. Game time is not the best situation to install fear and worry. Let them play. Beat Seattle. Respect the home crowd. Cheer for Tampa Bay.

This team has earned everything this season. Nothing was handed to them. They didn't back into a playoff berth or a division championship or a first-round bye. They went out and took it for themselves. While the rest of us looked at tie-breaking scenarios and rooted for opponents to fail, the Cards just went out and took care of business so that none of that mattered.

So why stop now? If they go out and win and somehow get the #1 seed, then we will wonder if it was better for them to rest and get the #2 because of seeding match-ups. That's what we as fans have been doing all season long: worrying about other teams.

The Cardinals? They just worry about themselves. And every team in the League should fear them, not the other way around. Whomever they face, they can beat. They control their own destiny from here-on-out. We don't need to worry about anyone else. This team certainly isn't.

Not all of us. Others on here were cheering for the Cowboys, Patriots, or other teams and I said there was no way I'd ever cheer for those teams - even if it would help us. Just win and whether those other teams win or lose no longer matters.

If he hadn't been injured earlier this year he would already be at 1,000. He is just such a weapon now...David Boston without steroids.

Or the nipple rings. :hairraise

Boston is probably the most disappointing Cards player ever because he had as much talent as anyone who has ever played and he threw it away.

Considering the NFL flexed the Panthers game to the same time last night, it's gonna be most likely a regular game til the end. It is what it is, but it sure is tough to beat a team 3 times in 1 year. Just sayin. Very possible we play Hawks in divisional round

That would suck hardcore. If they beat us in the playoffs our two regular season wins will mean nothing. I recall that happening to the Cowboys in 08', sweeping NYG and losing to them in the playoffs.

Or when Dallas swept us, and then we beat them in the WC game in 1998...

Losing to Seattle in the playoffs would add insult to injury, but again, in the 20 times a divisional foe has been met in the playoffs (since the merger) and the team already swept them in regular season, they have walked away winning that playoff game 13 times (nearly 65% of the time).

I think it would be badass to play it them in the divisional and beat them 3x's on the year. Maybe Carroll would get fired.

We should have at least had OT in the game at SDS. Rob Moore was interfered with and there was no call. Yes, I am still bitter to this day. We were screwed.

I don't see Carolina losing at home to Bucs. Franchise records for Palmer will ring hallow if they don't go all the way. I lean towards resting and keeping key guys safe and healthy.

If we need to beat them three times then it won't be in the divisional round, it will be in the NFC Championship game. The only way we play them in the divisional round is if they beat us on Sunday. If that happens then we won't need to beat them a third time, just two out of three.

BA's call and I defer to him on all football related matters and of course headwear.

Oakin sold me on the idea of beating the crap out of the Seahawks 3 times this year and that just feels right. Petey should be wetting himself thinking about having to play us for a 3rd time.

Me too! Most blatant PI ever. Not called.

Man that was a great game and I think the game that gave that team the confidence to know that they could indeed beat the Cowpies.

that was the worst call I've ever seen in a game. As someone who loathes blaming a loss on the refs, even I was furious after that game.

I'm actually still mad about something with that game. Those were the coolest end zones we've ever had... the Arizona Flag end zone with the Cardinal in the middle. It was the only time they ever did that and I always thought they should have done it every week.

Too much rest equals rust. Play to win. If we didn't have a bye, maybe rest your key starters, but not with a week off anyway.

Besides, if we beat Seattle, they will be the #6 seed and will have to play at Carolina in the divisional round, unless the Panthers slip up and lose to the Bucs, in which case we'd be the #1 seed then, which is also good.

That was a TNT Thursday night game wasn't it? I think Hayden and Vern Lundquist called the game. That was so infuriating that loss...

It was a Sunday day game - I was in Vegas and remember Frank Sanders had a big day. What a bummer that was. . .

Interference is an understatement! Moore was assaulted by Kevin Smith. :bang:

Payback is a bitch though! Especially living in Dallas my whole life & being in the stands for that domination of my most hated rival :D

Game Plan for the Offense:

Hand off to Kerwynn and Ellington 40+ times.

Only let Carson throw quick slants from the shotgun.

The End.
