The fans today were finally what I expected them to be when the new stadium was built. The 12th man. Hopefully winning a playoff game develops more tradition and fan participation like this can become more the rule than the exception.

Great performance by the FANS!! Both Kurt and Whis made mention of it in their post-game pressers. Really nice to see the faithful rewarded with this victory. Truly inspired the defense and the whole team.

The Seattle 12th man has nothing on today's Cardinals fans. :)

For those who weren't there you can't believe how awsome it was to have no areas full of fans for the other team or huge areas of empty seats. Just rows and rows of RED!

It was the best game ever in Arizona.

My voice is gone. The intensity of the crowd was unreal. LOVED EVERY SINGLE MINUTE OF IT!

The crowd was fantastic, but whoever decided to put up that quote from the Atlanta paper, "Arizona is where you want to play in January", right before the player intros made a great decision. It really seemed to work the crowd into a lather, and the players fed off of it, big time.

Really, I think I can handle this happening just a little more often. Like in 2 weeks. (We can all dream can't we?)

It was, indeed, awesome. Still some straggler Falcons fans in my section (I am so moving next year), but nothing compared to other games.

BTW, I went to Texas A&M where the students stand the entire game. Hell, they even stand while the band plays at half time. Our section always stands a lot, but I don't think I was on my butt for even one play today. Truly, it was just a blast.

Same here. And no one complained today, which was a nice change, lol.

I am exhausted (and I could use a massage), but I just don't want to go to sleep yet. I am still enjoying the day way too much.

I'm exhausted. I feel like I played a game today. Seriously exhausted. Also probably lost weight sweating in there.

What a great game, and great experience.

yeah, after the game we ran out to the car, met up with friends, ate a celebratory cardinals cake, waited out the traffic in bliss. then we met our mother and some family friends at a nice italian restaurant on central. we trudge in, dad in red, three brothers in cards jerseys. every one in the joint turns and looks. a little girl sitting at the bar is pumping her fist in our direction. it took me a moment to understand and respond by pumping my fist back. all of the tables around us ask us if we went to the game. i mean, very nicely attired couples, families, etc. we were treated like we were the friggin' players.

by the end of dinner cheese, brother-who-shall-not-post, and i were on fumes. our family friends were joking that we looked like we played the game. and in truth, we did. we gave everything we had. and it was glorious payoff.

Way to go guys!

I had to work today, but fortunately I only got 2 support calls all day and got to see most of the game on TV (so relieved it wasn't blacked out). I did miss the Rolle fumble recovery but saw it on the highlights from nfl.com.

Ironically, I am scheduled to work on the Sunday if the Cards somehow make the NFC championship. In that case there is someone else that can cover for me if I pony up a steak dinner or something. I ain't missing that one.

Today, it was like the entire stadium was acting like the student section

We started what I hope will become a mini-tradition in the stadium. At least most of our area joined in.

As the clock ticked down to kickoff, we counted it down 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1-screaaaaaaaam! like it was New Year's Eve.

Countdown to kicking the other team's ass. :)

I would love to hear the entire stadium one day count down every single game...it is great to hype us up. That Atlanta-Journal Constitution diss on the big board sure added jet-fuel to a multiple decades raging fire though, for sure. Made me personally angry and I spent almost too much energy screaming "this is what you wanted!! you asked for this crowd! You wanted this noise!!! Is it loud enough yet?!?"

Loudest crowd we've ever had...I loved everything about our crowd this afternoon. A bright, beautiful Saturday afternoon. While other teams' fans cut their grass, we were in another world...a red world where we yelled like little kids experiencing pure joy for the first time in their lives...with no inhibitions. It was glorious.

I was scanning AZCentral reading some comments, (eventually I will learn all they do is piss me off) but I have to paste these comments. I am amazed, this guy has to be torn up worse than I normally am when I post here!

"good game cardnal but the day go and win it all
is the day hell freze over in az. the cards don't have a chance with the gaints
or the pathners even they win next week they will not win chapmpship at home
so another so so season"

I did not misspell anything I swear, that was pure copy/paste.
BTW, I know this has nothing to do with the thread, but I wanted to share and couldn't justify starting a thread just for this.

By halftime I was already starting to get hoarse, so I tried to pace myself for the 4th qtr. :)

I guess most people do the same, cuz usually by the 4th qtr everybody is tired from yelling and it does quiet down. But not yesterday!

Perfectly said Donald... Honestly, I am entirely in love with this team, the stadium and the entire game experience. Yesterday was BY FAR the best Tailgate yet - and there have been many, many great ones!!
The Great Lawn was jamming! People were so pumped! Food was awesome. Mike and Rod did their thing on stage. Cheerleaders were as fantastic as always. The Drum Line guys were as phenomenal as always, and this time they had a Cardinal version of the "Durrty Burd" dancing with them - it was hilarious!!! Cardinal Love was literally everywhere. I partied with fans who were as old as 83 and as young as 6. Black, White, Hispanic... it was all about the Cards and it was simply awesome!!!!

Stood the entire game. Screamed the entire game... Then of course, took my fall...

Anyway, the Cards truly, truly have a very special thing brewing here... The years of pain and agony make it that much more special, and bring it to a level many other franchises can't fathom.
All in all, cracked ribs notwithstanding, it was a glorious day and one that I will not soon forget!!!

AND- The best part is no one left early. We usually have 30% leave midway through the 4th quarter to beat traffic. Everyone (save for a few falcons fans) stayed till the end.

Hats off to the fans who said what the hell lets go to the game & bought tickets at the last moment.This one needed to be a sellout.
