The fans today were finally what I expected them to be when the new stadium was built. The 12th man. Hopefully winning a playoff game develops more tradition and fan participation like this can become more the rule than the exception.
For those who weren't there you can't believe how awsome it was to have no areas full of fans for the other team or huge areas of empty seats. Just rows and rows of RED!
It was the best game ever in Arizona.
It was awesome. There were not many Falcons fans at the game at all.
The crowd was fantastic, but whoever decided to put up that quote from the Atlanta paper, "Arizona is where you want to play in January", right before the player intros made a great decision. It really seemed to work the crowd into a lather, and the players fed off of it, big time.
Really, I think I can handle this happening just a little more often. Like in 2 weeks. (We can all dream can't we?)
BTW, I went to Texas A&M where the students stand the entire game. Hell, they even stand while the band plays at half time. Our section always stands a lot, but I don't think I was on my butt for even one play today. Truly, it was just a blast.
I'm exhausted. I feel like I played a game today. Seriously exhausted. Also probably lost weight sweating in there.
What a great game, and great experience.

As the clock ticked down to kickoff, we counted it down 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1-screaaaaaaaam! like it was New Year's Eve.
Countdown to kicking the other team's ass.
I would love to hear the entire stadium one day count down every single game...it is great to hype us up. That Atlanta-Journal Constitution diss on the big board sure added jet-fuel to a multiple decades raging fire though, for sure. Made me personally angry and I spent almost too much energy screaming "this is what you wanted!! you asked for this crowd! You wanted this noise!!! Is it loud enough yet?!?"
Loudest crowd we've ever had...I loved everything about our crowd this afternoon. A bright, beautiful Saturday afternoon. While other teams' fans cut their grass, we were in another world...a red world where we yelled like little kids experiencing pure joy for the first time in their lives...with no inhibitions. It was glorious.
