Couple trade proposals
Which would you rather do?
TRADE SCENARIO #1
Cardinals trade - #5 pick, 3rd round pick, and 2008 1st round pick
For
#2 Pick
I don’t have the point system or anything but this would seem to be pretty standard as far as trades go. Maybe you would have to include a player instead of a third round pick but I don’t see us being able to move up with out giving up something of extreme value. As an addendum to that trade – what if we did this:
Cardinals trade – WR Larry Fitzgerald
To Minnesota for # 7 pick
Cardinals select: #2 – Calvin Johnson
#7 – Levi Brown or Laron Landry
Why the Cardinals do this: Cardinals get # 2 pick and a guy who will be locked up for another 5 years – not to mention the best WR prospect since Randy Moss. Johnson also adds a speed dimension opposite Q that we do not currently have. Fitzy gets to go home and play for a team desperate for a playmaker. With the # 7 pick Cardinals can go with the need pick (Brown) or the future Pro Bowler (Landry). I would go Landry and then select the best OT in the 2nd round.
TRADE SCENARIO #2
Cardinals trade # 5 pick
FOR
Dolphins trade # 9 pick, # 60 pick and LB Channing Crowder
Why the Cardinals do this: The Dolphins need a QBOF and just acquired another 2nd round pick in the Wes Welker trade. I would say this is ammunition to move up and get the # 5 pick as Houston will draft Quinn the spot before and it seems likely Quinn will topple out of the top 4. The new QB coach of the ‘phins is also the same guy who prepped Quinn since after the bowl game for the combine. Potentially a reason he has been so guarded with his interviews despite it being his best attribute? Miami is a nice place to play…..The Cardinals, with all the elite prospects off the board fall back acquire an extra second rounder and still get a guy they likely would have been looking at #9 be it Branch, Brown, Adams, or Landry. Plus they get a young stud OLB who they can throw on the outside of Hayes.
