College.... Yes.

The pro's will kill him. Too fast. Too Big.

He might become an Allstott type. That's a best case IMO.

He's in the same category as guys like Leonard (Rutgers) and Laurinaitis - high-achieving players who get 80% of the job done based on sheer toughness, smarts and character.

Gerhart gained 205 yards the hard way - not from a few 50+ yard breakaways or by frequently gaining the edge around surprised outside defenders - but instead by hitting an admittedly "down" but nevertheless big time college team) in the mouth over and over again.

No doubt the stat guys will be all over Gerhart in the weeks leading to Combine and then the Draft. My guess is that he'll be underdrafted, but some team (probably New England or Indy) will trade up to get him late in round one (if he deserves to go higher), in round 2 (if he deserves to go in round 1) or round 3 if he's projected to go in round 2).

That's why teams like the Pats and Colts are able to remain consistent winners.

At worst, he becomes a devestating lead blocker. At best he becomes the second coming of Jerome Bettis or Mike Alstott. Whatever the case, if you like "old-school" football, he's sure fun to watch

I see him as a "in the mix" kinda back -- not a 25 carries a game guy, but maybe he gets 8-10 carries with 3-5 throws to him out of the backfield.

I also think Toby has a strange awkwardness to his running style - he looks almost clumsy at times -- and that masks what is likely pretty good speed and running ability.

I am not ready to count him out, and BTW-- if I had a vote, he would be my Heisman pick.

I am wondering what kind of a TE he would be. Tough kid. Runs well with the ball and seems to have good hands.

I said yesterday while watching the game that he will be an Alstott clone in the pros. He will probably go to a power run team like the Ravens
