maybe we brake with over 35 years of bad brakes and get the #1 over-all pick?

what would we do if we go the #2 or #3? would deng look good on this team? or how about howard? if we take howard can amare knock so heart into him? would the front line of amare, okafor be one of the scarest in the nba?

stay turn to the answers to these questions and more.

is it any wonder that this is my favorite time of year? i love trying to figue out who the team will take and how the off season will shape up.

I've been looking forward to the lottery for a while now.

I'm going to predict the Suns will land a top 3 pick

Less than 8 hours to go.

What the heck: Since my predictions about matters of pure chance are always wrong, I'll predict that the Suns will slip to #8!

Spoilsport.

Assuming the Suns end up at #7 (spending the rest of the summer wondering why they had to beat Utah...), it WILL make a difference who ends up where.

If Washington wins and takes Okafor, then Chicago is likely to take Deng if they are second. At that point, Orlando would trade their pick to someone who wants Howard.

Charlotte is expected to take a guard or small forward such as Livingston or even Childress. The Clippers are expected to take a point guard.

What does Atlanta do if they end up at #5 in this scenerio? They might pass on Biedrins and take one of the Smiths or even Gordon.

My point is that Washinton is the team that would be most likely to take Biedrins ahead of the Suns, but will take Okafor or Deng ahead of Biedrins if they draw that high. So the ranking will matter even if the Suns draft #7.

We never had a #1 pick. Lets get one this time.

Even if their is no player we could use at #1 it still gives us much better trade bait.

I'm never veryoptomistic about the lottery, but I have a feeling well get lucky on this one.

I dont know if we get the #1, but I bet we get better than #7...

That being said... Okafor would be a nice addition ;)

What, it's the lottery already? The time has just flown by! ;)

I'll guess that the Suns wind up in 7th, with the ping-pong balls leaving us completely unaffected.

If the Suns luck out and get #1, I expect that they'll draft Okafor and keep him. (Think Portland and Theo Ratliff.) They can always pick up a stiff somewhere to fill in the corners.

I guess Eric and I are the negative people. I'm actually more concerned about dropping to #8 than I am about getting one of the top draft picks. Like every year is draft is starting to look a lot better than it did a few months ago. However I do think Okafor is a weak #1. I do think he can be a very good NBA player, but I'm not nearly as excited about him as I would have been with Yao Ming or LeBron James.

Why is Diana Turasi, a life long Laker fan, representing the Suns tonight? seems wierd. They should have gotten Barkley to do it that would have been awesome.

Diana led the U Conn women's team to the NCCA title. Okafor led the U Conn men's team.

Guess who they want to draft!

Unfortunately, there is good reason for that. It's more than twice as likely that the Suns will move down as it is that they will move up.

I think #7 is only important if you think Biedrins can contribute. Otherwise, it won't make any difference. If you want to take Andi and leave him in Europe, it won't make ths slightest difference because none of the other lottery teams can afford to do that.

Oops, I misremembered the numbers. It is more likely that the Suns will move down, but not twice as much. The overall probability that they move up is 21.9%, versus 33.4% that they move down. Somewhat oddly, there's less than a 50% chance that they'll stay where they are at #7.

exactly. it would be just our luck to win the lotto when no DOMINANT player is the consensus #1 pick. we lose the coin flip for jabbar, we lose the coin flip for robinson, and we'd win this one. sheesh.

Realistically speaking, I'm just hoping for Orlando to fall out of the top two. It makes them much more desperate to rebuild rather than try to keep McGrady. However, if they fall to second there's still not much of a chance they'll get Okafor unless Atlanta wins the whole thing. Falling out of the top two spots would give us a much better bargaining position to go after McGrady.

If we get the first pick do you think the SUNS would consider taking Howard or Will they start entertaining Trade Down Offers?

This sucks. The lottery isn't being televised here in Canada.

Can someone post the results as they happen?
