and with a resounding THUD - our chances of getting Tracy just dropped that much further as well. Crap.

Well that sucked. The only other really bad team in the Western Conference moved up, and the Magic got the pick they needed to keep McGrady.

And worst of all, now I have to start trying to figure out who the Suns will take at #7. I haven't been paying attention at all so far.

all my delusions of grandeur have been completely f*cked up by a prayer thrown up by Fisher and now a ping pong ball machine giving the number pick to Orlando - AGAIN! CRAPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So now what do we with all that lovely cap space - I fear this team is now stuck in mud.

The other disapointment is that Howard will go to the worst team for a HS player to go. The Suns are great at finding hidden players in the draft, so if we keep this pick I think they will find someone that isn't a waste.

Orlando will take Okafor,
Clippers will take Howard and trade him to Atlanta for two picks,
Chicago will take Deng?

Looks like McGrady will stay in Orlando now that they've got a center. :? I'm starting to dislike those bastards; they've had too much good luck, especially for such a young franchise.

The Clippers are the key to the draft now. If there's a team in the lottery that doesn't need Dwight Howard, it's the Clips; also, I've been thinking that they are the team that promised Andriuskevicius they'd take him.

Andriuskevicius will stay or drop out depending on what they decide (if that's the case), and everybody else will fall into place based on whether the Clips trade down and whom they pick.

For those who like Biedrins, the Wizards and Hawks are both teams that could use him, so it looks less likely to me that he'll be available at #7.

Hey, at least I nailed my prediction! :p

On the other hand getting Okafor might make it more acceptable for the Magic to lose TMac.
So essentially they would get Shawn Marion and #7 ( Ben Gordon) for TMac and built around Gordon, Okafor and Marion.

I was thinking the same thing a minute ago, but didn't think anyone else would see it.

Personally, unless something drastic happens, I don't think Emeka will be enough to keep Tracey around. He may not force a trade this summer, but if they loose again next year (which they will) he will bolt.

I loved the Magic exec's quote before the lottery.

"Well, we couldn't get smarty jones' horseshoe, so we just got as many ping pong balls as we could. And we definitely did a good job of that."

He also said that they earned every one of those lottery balls. As I said in the chat room, if any team was undeserving of moving up in the draft it was the LA Clippers.

I really don't mind that we got the #7, but I think the Clippers getting #2 really sucks ass. (Sorry Joe)

For those fans of conspiracy theories, how about this:

Getting the 2nd pick allows the Clippers to become much more desirable a destination for Kobe Bryant. The NBA certainly doesn't want a star of his caliber leaving LA, right? And if the NBA is convinced that Kobe will walk, then the easy way to keep him in a huge market like LA is to make the 2nd team look just as promising as the Lakers.

Of course, my signature still stands, but what a conspiracy! :D

You could come up with a better consiracy theory than that Chap. There is no guarantee the #2 pick will be better than the #10 pick. Both next year, and for their career.

That's not the point. You can say that about the #1 pick as well. But would you rather have the #1 or the #7?

The Clips chance at Kobe may have been greatly hurt. Their payroll next year, assuming they let Richardson and Dooling go is 32.776. The #2 pick will, under the rookie salary scale, earn 3.116 in the first year, putting the Clips at 35.89. The latest salary cap estimates are 42.9, leaving the Clips only 7 million to offer a FA the first year, where Kobe can ear 14 his first year. I would be surprised if he took that big a cut to play with the Bill Bidwill of the NBA. And unlike the Suns, the Clips have no 5 million dollar contracts that would be desireable to Charlotte (i.e. one year left on the contract like White). Cory Magette has 5 years left with a 6 million dollar salary next year, that is the only possible way the Clips could clear enough money for Kobe is to somehow shed Magette, and according to Marc Stein who is convinced Kobe's going to the Clips, a large reason for that is his supposed closeness with Magette.

Oh I said that exact same thing in another thread. But I doubt Kobe Bryant will be that much more impressed by the project the Clipps take at 2 than the project they take at 10. I was just saying I doubt the pick will effect anything, because it isn't like it will dramatically change their team the next 2 years.

Well, geez, I DID call it a "theory" after all. And I never said I agreed with it either.

I was just answering since you questioned my first repsonse. Plus you made fun of my mock draft, so I'm gonna follow your posts for a while
