We're sounding like we're pretty bad, although Casey just hit a 3. We're down by 9, 29-20.

jj and barbosa sound like they are rocking the house. they are doing very well.
It looks like the plan is trial & error. Not a good idea for the long run and I hope it's not what we will see very much longer. 
On the other hand, I'm building our summer home in Colorado and Denver looks like they may have an exciting season this year.

Biggest problem Nuggets have is the same one the Suns have. They could swap head coaches and still have the same problem.
A line up of four guards and a PF is not going to win many games.

I thought one of the biggest issues we'd address during the offseason was our ability to start the game sluggish and build ourselves a 1st quarter deficit.
In the few games that I've listened to on the radio, it seems that we're still doing that. I know it's preseason but I hope we don't have to rely on come from behind victories for the majority of our wins this season.

I also wonder why Trybanski didn't get any time. Unlike Sheppard and Googs this guy has actually done well in the time he's been given and its not like Camby and Anderson would be too physical for him.

Odd preseason game.
Voshkul, Trybanski, DerMarr, Weathers and Archibald all get DNP CD's.
Voshkul's got an owie, but I don't know abou the others.
I hope we keep the "Pole" and DerMarr around.

I wouldn't be too sure about that. The Suns have already proven this preseason that they are willing to give up size.
If someone picks up Trybanski off of waivers, the Suns would be out of the obligation for his contract. If they knew there was a team out there that would do it, they might.
I'd love to keep the guy, but if Frank continues to run lineups like tonight, whats the point.

If preseason is a way to see what you have, why doesn't FJ actually play people? We know how Marbury, Marion and Hardaway will play, why not sit them, perhaps for the whole game, and let the other guys play?
I don't understand not playing Trybanski, DerMarr and Archibald. If we're not going to keep them, let them play so that they can maybe find a job somewhere else--they don't impress anybody sitting on the bench. Besides, how are you supposed to find out how healthy DerMarr is if he doesn't play??

Chap, the only thing I can come up with is they are trying to nail down their timing, and get themselves into playing shape.
It sounded like in their game in denver they were left breathing. Also, they have changed the offense around, so they want to try it out before the games count. I hope next game we will see the bigger guys since we are playing LA though.

Sounds to me like they're putting a lot of faith into Jake Voskuhl.
No we'd still have to pay him. Just like the Jazz are still paying Rice his 9.5 mil this year after waiving him and he's still getting 1.5 mil from signing with the Clips. If clubs didn't have to pay for cutting guys I'm sure you'd see overpaid players getting cut just on the off chance someone would pick them up.

I'm pretty sure JC has it right, presuming he was referring to some team claiming Trybanski off waivers. Putiing somebody on waivers is a two step affair - for the first 48 or 72 hours the first team that claims him off waivers picks up his salary and he doesn't get any say in the matter - in effect he was traded for nothing. After that, the player is said to have 'cleared waivers' and he is free to negotiate with any team (maybe only teams under the cap or with some wiggle room via an exception) for any amount they agree upon and his previous team pays the diff between what he gets from his new team and what his contracted salary was. I'm sure there's lots of fine print but thats the basic waiver process in basketball.
